Annie and Laurent could give lessons to bed and breakfast owners all over the world. For 40 years, my husband and I have been living and traveling on several continents, so we have a good idea of what to expect and hope for. The accommodations were wonderful. Our quietly elegant and comfortable room was tastefully decorated in a soft, neutral...

We enjoyed every single second of our 2 night stay at Clos de la Barbanne in May. Annie and Laurent couldn't do enough for us, the meal we had on Friday was out of this world, we both said we hadn't eaten food of that standard for a very long time, Annie is amazing!! All the thought and effort she...

Our GPS had sent us on a wild goose chase but it was well worth the trip and we did not even mind our lost drive through the areas beautiful vineyards. We stayed for one night and arrived directly from the Bordeaux airport. Prior to our stay, Annie was extremely helpful and responsive via email. Annie and Laurent were kind,...

We stayed at Clos de la Barbanne for two nights and it was wonderful. Annie and Laurent were terrific. Our room was large, clean, modern and inviting. Annie fixed us a gourmet dinner the night we arrived and the breakfasts were delicious. All natural and organic foods. The property is beautiful and we would return in a heartbeat.

My stay was like a total dream come true. Annie and Laurent have created the perfect magically experience. The rooms are perfectly designed, well equipped and comfortable. The view is unforgettable. It is exactly what you'd expect when visiting the Bordeaux wine countys. Make sure you have breakfast in the morning and try out their dinner at night as well....

What a treat to spend three nights and four days at Clos de la Barbanne. Annie and Laurent have created magic. The rooms were spacious and full of character with a bath room I'd love to take home. The beds were so comfortable I almost didn't want to get up for breakfast, but that would have been a mistake. Wow....

The location is exactly what you would imagine when you are dreaming about visiting the stunning Bordeaux wine country. As far as you can see from these newly decorated amazing rooms and balconies, are rolling hills, vineyards, and small French chateau's. When you enter this small boutique winery and chateau, you are swept into the rich, yet relaxing mode that...

I spent my 50th birthday at Clos de la Barbanne and couldn't have imagined a more perfect celebration. It is easily amongst the best places we have ever stayed. Annie and Laurent are incredible hosts. Their thoughtfulness and passion shine through in every detail. We loved their beautiful vineyard, wines, rooms, hospitality, and recommendations. Then there is the food, WOW,...

The thing about a good French chamber d’hote, is that ultimately one is being invited, more or less, to stay at the home of its owners. That can make for an uneasy balance between guests (who want freedom but still enjoy the comforts of home) and the owners (who have to carry on their own lives whilst guests are living...
