Amazing resort combining a main building surrounded by individual villas set in beautiful gardens on a small kind of peninsula in the see.
The pool villas have individual infinity pools facing the see with complete intimacy, no one can see your terrace or pool !
These villas are large and have a very elegant decoration, as well as an amazing bathroom with a freestanding round bathtub as well as a separate shower, a toilet and two separate sinks. There is an additional separate toilet for visitors.
The main infinity pool of the hotel is huge with beautiful panoramic views of the sea. Several very nice restaurants allowing for inside or outside seating.
The only negative point would be the small beach, unfortunately there are rocks under the shallow water making getting in the sea hazardous.

We had a very pleasant stay! We feel like you pay that little extra for the view but not for the service. Some of the staff were amazing really went out of their way to greet you and that everything is what you expected it to be. Boom and Chq need to be recognised for all the effort they put into their job they were the only ones that seemed to care about all guests around and not just “ there to work “ Boom would go out of his way just to even say Hello,, or to ask how your day was. If you’re looking to stay here I recommend that you value of what you want out of your vacation, ( relax ) or ( relax but go out sometimes ) because this hotel is far away from the “ center “ of everything. Without a scooter you can’t really go anywhere or see much. We were here mid / end of July.. ( rainy season ) and there were very small amount of guest in the hotel. Meaning not all restaurants were open, Spa was doing maintenance so we was recommended not to look around inside ,then the Spa Therapist at the reception didn’t know if me and my husband could have a treatment together in same room as we wanted two different treatments, couldn’t explain the packages and what they consisted of to us and just basically said come back later to talk to someone else 😅 ( which automatically put us off getting treatments ). Near the pool they were building something too so the main path walk was blocked. Which obviously one thing after another adds up a little and becomes a bit frustrating. I booked this resort purely for the spa and we ended up having to look up spas outside of the hotel and get treatments else where. we payed a lot to come to this beautiful resort. So we expect 100% of the service from staff and around you. Unfortunately we recieved maby 80%. In the evening I would recommend them to put some quiet music in the background. We sat there some evenings no music no people and just in the dar. ( boring ) so you’re forced to go out somewhere on the bike. Would of been nice to chill more at the resort but last order at 10:30 pm. Private beach area no one there to help you if you want to order a drink or no one to open your umbrella. Overall you’re a Luxury 5 star hotel giving out 3.5 / 4 star service. Not good enough. Distance to Karon beach ( no traffic ) 35min Traffic 45min To Patong beach ( 45 min no traffic ) Just over 60min with traffic. That’s a lot of driving up and down daily. Hope this helps. We stayed in Amatara for our honeymoon and I cannot rate our stay highly enough. The only negative was that I wish we stayed longer, it was just beautiful.
From the moment we walked in, the staff were absolutely incredible. Everyone has such a lovely smile on their faces and are extremely respectful and friendly.
We stayed in the Bay Suite Room and the view from morning till night was incredible. The breakfast buffet was delicious with a lovely view as well. The room service was also great, the club cars would arrive very quickly and the housekeeping would leave our room spotless.
I am extremely sad to be leaving but will definitely try to be back again soon.
I cannot thank the staff enough, each were wonderful and special in their own way but I would like to especially thank these wonderful people - Joy, Jasper and Ton. Thank you for making our honeymoon stay a trip to remember!

Never in my experience have I encountered a situation in a hotel group that lacked such accountability and regard for its customer.
Pictured below you will see photos of me in Thailand on the day I wore an outfit that was brand new to me for my birthday. I went on a solo trip to Thailand, and Amatara is the second resort I decided to stay at.
I booked an Ocean view Villa initially which the resort canceled as they claimed they couldn’t process my payment, and once they attempted, they booked it but with a lesser room. Once I got into my villa, the view ugh.. I was on the side of an island where it was low tide it just was not pretty. On top of the room being infested with mosquitoes, which is to be expected in Thailand, however, for a resort of this caliber and the price that I paid, I would expect them to have a more extensive mosquito mitigation plan in place.
Once I arrived, I was given a card that showed I was able to get a free cocktail during certain hours of the day at the sun and moon restaurant. No one advised that the card was supposed to be taken which I don’t believe that it was supposed to because no one else showed any cards, but checking out they had the price of the cocktail on my bill and they refused to adjust it.
My biggest concern is I had some clothing cleaned while I was there and in the outfit pictured below you’ll see it is in pristine condition. I would never wear an outfit with bleach spots or stains for that matter but that’s neither here nor there. My chief concern is that I addressed it once I returned home and noticed that my garments were discolored and had bleached spots all over them. I took pictures and I emailed it to the resort and you’ll see their response below. Not only are they suggesting that I’m lying about my items they are suggesting that my items were so dirty that this was the issue. The only thing I did that day in this outfit was take pictures as a café hopped. Even getting the time stamp pictures as well as me suggesting they check their camera footage to show that my garments were in pristine condition, or even to ask the driver who they hired to drive me that day. To no avail… And the complete disregard to a consumer is beyond anything I’ve ever experienced in my travels. I’m disgusted by the fact that they are not even looking at their staff with the microscope, or even suggesting that I would lie about Such a thing is disheartening. I will never do business with this company again The lack of integrity the lack of respect for a customer and the overall discontentment I have just from this experience, and having to be questioned, or even mocked is absurd. The clothing can be replaced, but the lack of accountability of my experience, and the disdain I feel because of this experience with them will not. Companies feel as if one customer is not enough to stop the show… And maybe they’re right, but if they continue to operate like this, there is power in numbers and I hope they get a reality check very soon.

Please allow us to clarify the issues happened during your visit as follows; - Your reservation: Your first booking was made through online agent for Ocean View Pool Villa and was cancelled because of the unsuccessful payment. You then made the second booking but during the time you booked the Ocean View Pool Villa was already full booked then you booked for Bay View Pool Villa and that you checked in with this room type. Our Senior Guest Relations Officer discussed with you as you showed her for the first booking that was cancelled and that you were explained about the fully booked situation of Ocean View Pool Villa. - During checked in the same staff gave the information card for pool villa benefits which included the venues for daily cocktail at either Pool Terrace or Sun & Moon Rooftop bar. However, you had the meal at Scene and ordered the cocktail which wasn't included. Our staff explained and advised you to have additional drink either at Pool Terrace or Sun & Moon and you acknowledged for this. None of our Pool Villa guests need to present the card to get the pool villa benefits, the card is not a coupon but it's the information card. With regards to the laundry issue, we are really sorry as our room boy collected the laundry bag the late afternoon which would be cleaned the next day. The next morning our front desk was informed by laundry dept. about the bleach spots and they tried to contact you. However, they couldn't locate you within the resort and decided to clean as you would depart the next day. They delivered the laundry back to the villa, however, they could have contacted you again to inform about the stains, unfortunately it didn't happen which our management already had a serious meeting with the concerned head of department. We really do apologize and admitted that this's our mistake that didn't inform this to you during you were here. However, we would like to take this opportunity to thank you for choosing Amatara and we are very pleased to receive your feedback as we are always eager to optimize our product and services based on the feedback of our guests. We understand that the entire experience must have been very frustrating and may have left you with an unfavorable impression. The resort is nice and clean and staff are very friendly. However, the bed and pillows were pretty uncomfortable. The mattress was really firm, which gave us a backache, the pillows were soft and would deflate almost touching the mattress. The “King size bed” were 2 beds put together which had a separation in the middle which added to the discomfort. There weren’t any clear instructions on the phone to dial room service, house keeping, etc. If you’re looking to enjoy the view of the ocean, it will be somewhat spoiled with big cargo ships most of the time, either being parked there for days, or passing through. A lot of activities are dependent on the weather here (even if it’s just cloudy), such as wanting to do a private dinner on the beach, renting kayaks, swimming on the beach.
One thing to note is there’s not much nearby to do. The place is far from tourist spots/attractions - something to keep in mind. Ordering food at their restaurant or rooftop is also not “cheap” as by Thailand's standards, so don’t expect to have inexpensive food, it’s regularly priced compared to the US. We were here for our honeymoon and there were definitely much better stays we had during our trip.
Some positives: the breakfast buffet (included) was great which we enjoyed. The golf cart service was quick to take us to and from the main entrance to leave the property. The property is well maintained, large, beautiful (including the rooms), and pool was clean.

I booked this resort through Booking.com for my parents, who were flying all the way from Italy to Thailand for Christmas. Unfortunately, the payment failed a week before check-in, and the reservation was canceled before I even realized what had happened. The notification email about the failed payment was an automated message that looked very similar to the frequent promotional emails Booking.com sends, making it easy to miss.
While the resort had previously contacted me regarding Christmas Eve dinner and we had been in communication, they failed to notify me directly about the payment issue. Instead, they canceled the reservation and gave the room away. When I reached out to rebook, I was initially told there was no availability, only to be informed hours later that there had been a cancellation—but the same room was now being offered at $700 SGD more than my original booking price.
This forced me to find another resort at the last minute, just a week before Christmas, and I ended up paying significantly more than planned. The entire experience was frustrating and could have easily been avoided with better communication from the resort.

Please allow us to clarify as the booking was made through online agent and the payment policy was set by them not us which indicated when making reservation. We had no right to cancel the guest's booking if they didn't send us the cancellation. The cancellation communication including failure of payment were communicated between client and online agent. The resort contacted you to advise for Christmas Eve dinner similar to other guests that we contacted to because of limited seating and it happened prior to the cancellation we received. After your booking was cancelled, the online agent sold the room to other clients and that is why we advised the availability with different price. Our Reservation did contact back when there's cancellation for the original room type but we didn't get the reply back. It's always been a great wish for me to find a stress reduction retreat programs with my husband for honeymoon and so I googled this special resort and got attracted by the great reviews from customers that came before. After our stay in this resort, both of us will never regret our choices to choose Amatara Welleisure Resort, Phuket and definitely will come again for anniversary.
The airport transfer was provided with the package. Staff, Ms. Oh had answered emails promptly. The drivers they recommended had been very friendly and driven safely. The staff who welcomed us had provided very detailed descriptions of the resort by providing maps with opening hours of each restaurant, welcome drinks and what to be scheduled for our wellness program. Thanks to the staff at front desks, they answered very concerns of us, including the booking and time arrangements of our honeymoon bubble bath, the private dinner arrangements, the spa consultation sessions and even the night market recommendations. Friendly faces are we saw from the staff.
Since we have joined the wellness program, we got to experience private consultation sessions, energy healing, chakra mediations with Dr. Harshana while having the body composition testings, body posture training by Physiotherapist Benz and yoga programs joined. We had experienced a reviving journey in the art of healing by various means, i.e. energy stones, singing bowls they provided and got follow-ups by them constantly.
The spa treatments were another spotlight in the stay. We had all kinds of excellent massages here from head to toes. The signature massage was so tailor-made to tackle the pain and tensions in muscles. Especially got surprised by the Thai Hamman. The massage oil was so awesome and not oily, making us very happy with that too. You will definitely love the skills of each therapist here. Shout out to each of them, please!
The wellness programs also included daily healthy food in Senses the restaurant. We were meat lovers and hated vegetables. The cook here can turn us on to eat more vegetables and fallen in love with healthy diets and juices. We especially would like to appreciate Ms. Oil the waitress who served us very dearly and kind. Her smiles had made us feel so akin.
For the honeymoon part, the room was with private pool Pavillon and got decorated with everything we needed to celebrate. The flower petals and the swan-like towels, the bubble bath with candles also amazed us. We found each day was cleaned up so attentively that even our swimsuits and socks got folded. The Private dinner was another surprises again, decorated with candles and petals again. Not to forget the food is so delicious.

We visited this property for our anniversary in april 2023 and stayed for 2 nights. Considering the amount we paid ( 20k inr / 10k tbh per night ) the room we got was disappointing. The front desk was miserable and didn't consider any of our check-in requests and ensured that we wait till 3pm or beyond to get our room. We booked the cape panwa suite, but we were allocated a room on the ground floor , from where neither the sea nor the cape was visible . After multiple requests, they agreed to move us to the 1st floor which had a decent view. The room was spacious and the view was good. The only good thing was the infinity pool. They have access to the beach but it's only for fitness freaks as the hotel is situated on a hill and has to walk down multiple steps to reach the beach. And there was noone to provide any towels or help around the beach, so I would definitely say to skip it. Breakfast was okay, but ala carte dinner had some amazing dishes.
Overall not a great experience and would have got must better place. If you are booking this property, keep your expectations low, especially from the reservation desk.

They had a member of their room service staff make inappropriate comments. I was there alone and he seemed to be the only one bringing my food and picking up the trays, he said he wanted to Kiss me, that he felt something when he saw me, that I was so beautiful, that he wanted to have a drink with me and that he was coming after his shift. My villa was so isolated and I was trying to be polite because I didn’t want him to harm me, I told him I was just really tired and had to wake up early. I kept thinking he could come back, he might have a key to my room, I was scared all night. The next day I was like let me go to the restaurant instead so I don’t have to see him, he shows up there and starts serving my table. I was so mad, creepy out and annoyed. I was afraid to complain while I was there cause I didn’t want him to come and retaliate, so I tried to stay polite it out being too friendly but I was repulsed. I told the manager the day I was leaving and this moron who thinks he conducted an investigation said this was due to a language issue. He tried every which way to gaslight me and down play the incident to cover up for what happened, which made it even worse. I slept as night with my door barricaded. He offered me two free nights lol so I could go back and be scared ? They still employed the guy! They believed his BS language barrier thing, he wouldn’t even stop looking at my cleavage, I felt so violated. The manager couldn’t have handled the situation any worse, these people don’t have a clue. I don’t recommend anyone stay here, they have a lot of similar resorts that are closer to the nice beaches.

We have been opened for more than 11 years and very often we welcome solo female traveler especially for Wellness programs and have never had any issues like this before. Phuket and Thailand is the country of smile and we always commit to provide the excellent services to all guests. For your case It's not like we would not take any action nor investigate, we did right after you departed with Chief Security and our room service staff hardly speak English that's why he is assigned to just deliver the food and only make few conversations with guests. It's because of language barrier from the moment he entered to the room to pronounce "cuse me .. cuse me instead of proper Excuse me Excuse me including you room is beautiful instead of your room is beautiful. We don't have to protect staff if he did such things as we have set policy to follow. The reason for you to see him again at the outlet is very normal as that outlet take responsibility for room service too so room service team helped sometime when the outlet is busy and that day we were very busy because of Valentine's day We do apologize that we couldn't meet with your requirement as you asked for one night refund after you left via messages. However, as a gesture of will we would really like you to return that's why we offer for your next stay instead. We have just checked out from our 4 night stay at the Amatara Wellness Resort. From arrival at the airport to checking out the service has been amazing. We were welcomed to the resort with a welcome drink, and checked in to our room by Tong.
Airport Transfer
Our transfer was complimentary as part of the package we booked with Amatara. Tom collected us from Phuket Airport, and provided water for our journey.
Bay View Pool Villa
The Villa we stayed in was amazing. Large floor plan for two people. The room was complete with everything you needed for your stay, and was very clean. The infinity pool was stunning, with views over Panwa Bay and The Big Buddha.
Spa & Facilities
We opted to have a couples 60 minute massage, which was incredibly relaxing. The massage room had stunning views over the ocean.
The main pool is a huge infinity pool, with plenty of sunbeds for sun bathing. There is a pool bar where you can order drinks and food.
The beach is very small and private, again plenty of sunbeds and complimentary use of kayaks which we didn’t use.
We did make use of the well equipped fitness centre and tennis court (small fee for tennis balls).
Dining
There are multiple restaurants located within the resort. Breakfast is served in the Siri, which has plenty of options both local cuisine and more western choices. Our first morning we ordered the floating breakfast which was served on our pool at our villa.
We dined once in the Siri restaurant in the evening and opted for the set menu, which gave a good selection of local Thai food.
There a few local restaurants within walking distance, but on two of the our nights we opted to take a Grab Taxi to “The Cove”. A really nice beachfront restaurant, with a good variety of food on the menu.
Overall a fantastic experience staying at Amatara in Panwa, and we would recommend it to anyone looking for a wellness retreat in the Phuket area.

There’s a kids club in pretty sure the room is huge so is the bed there’s a good sized private pool and massive main pool. There are 2 restaurants to choose from. The hotel is quite secluded so we just ate at the hotel

Yes, we do have vegetarian options especially for the menu at Senses for Wellness Cuisine. At breakfast, there's always choice for vegetarian and our Chef is keen to ensure enough option is provided.
