We stayed at Greenfire for one night on October on our self-drive around Namibia. Of all the over a dozen lodges we stayed we liked Greenfire the best. The owners were very nice and have over 20,000 hectares cattle-free and they had a complimentary sundown drive looking for wild game. It was the only time we actually saw an Aardwolf....

We arrived early afternoon. We could not believe the sheer starkness and beauty of a six unit Lodge in the desert. The room, patio and bathroom was beyond comfortable. Once you adjust to the heat. The managers and staff are fabulous. The chef is quite talented and cooked us up fabulous food. The only thing lacking was the Desert tour...

After a long dusty drive from Luderitz, it was so nice to be greeted with a warm welcome from hosts Sanet and Etienne and their staff. The location is simply breathtaking, and the lodge and accommodation is perfect. We just sat back relaxed and drank in the 'sounds of silence'. A welcome break from the road. We had a great...

We had no idea what to expect but this place was really magical. We arrived late after a long drive and the proprietors were waiting for us, concerned. We were really taken care of but also had the place to ourselves for hours at a time. We took our small children - which was ok - but I'd love to...

I came here with a tour and we stayed in the campsite area, not the lodge. The campground is more established in that there is a platform and wooden canopy for each tent. Bathroom is basic, cold water (to be expected for camping). There was a pool by the tent area, but no water in it when we were there,...

Hi Andrea F, thank you for your feedback. On response to you comments about the pool and the Scenic drive. You visited the campsite in the middle of winter, the temperature very often drops to nearly freezing at this time. We found that no one utilized the pool in winter because of the extreme cold temperature of the water in...

Wasn't quite sure what to expect, but it turned out to be simply incredible. Went with my girlfriend after a long drive from Luderitz and arrived just as the sun was beginning to set for the most spectacular red scenery as far as the eye can see. The management were extremely welcoming and the food and service were impeccable. We...

We made a last minute, impromptu booking and didn't know what to expect. What a pleasant surprise! The small lodge (6 rooms) is well hidden on a rocky hillside with a stunning view over the desert landscape. Our hosts were very charming and knowledgeable about the area. We also had a very good dinner and breakfast at the lodge. Our...

WE stayed there for two nights. It was wonderful. The new managers are so friendly and are really taking care of their customers. Game drive is organized for free and it takes you to the most hidden places of that region at Sunset. Incredible!

We were there for two nights with a Drifters Tour in Southern Africa. The campground is behind the hill of the lodge. Facilities are great, yet cold water only in the campsite. The place is far from "civilization" but you have everything you need. The lodge owns quite an amount of land around it, where they offer game drives -...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
We are a small intimate lodge in the south of the Namib desert bordering the NamibRand Nature Reserve. It is located away from the main road, ensuring peace and quiet, no passers by and no interruptions. The lodge itself is comfortable and perfectly suited for just relaxing at the pool, downtime from travelling, catching up on travel journals, stargazing and simply watching the view. We largely depend on Solar power thus limiting our carbon footprint in this sensitive area. A central charging facility is located in the lounge/dining room area where guest are welcome to charge any gadgets if needed. We offer scenic drives and walks. These traverse the property and give our guests an impression of the vastness of the land and the incredible adaption the resident animals here make. The meals are freshly prepared by our resident chef using mostly home grown produce when seasons allow it. A well stocked bar with a small but versatile selection of wines, beers and cool drinks are available for your enjoyment. Come and experience true desert hospitality! ... more   less
