Our fourth visit, in January 2016, in recent years - it just gets better and better! Reluctant to say too much as we value the quiet intimate atmosphere compared with much of Barbados, especially the 'no children under 16 rule'! Long may this gem prosper....More

Returned home last week after 14 nights at Sugar Cane. Best recommendation is the number of people who were staying there after innumerable return visits. As Sugar Cane virgins we thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of our holiday. We were in an ocean view room (502)...More

Previous positive reviews correctly report on the hotel. The gardens are lovely, peaceful and green, with added bonus of the monkeys, hens and gully walk. The food was excellent, local cuisine, plus some more traditional western choices for any less adventures guests. My only suggestion...More

I would echo every positive written before. Some comments I don't agree with: 'Too many buffets at lunchtime' we never had one. 'Not enough local cuisine', we had sweet potato in all sorts of ways, macaroni pie, wonderful fish, local soups. 'The food was over...More

I think ChrissieH sums it up very well. The hotel is absolutely brilliant for adults seeking a restful time. But it isn't on the beach (10-15 minute stroll downhill). And her comments about food are spot on too. Chips at... More
I think ChrissieH sums it up very well. The hotel is absolutely brilliant for adults seeking a restful time. But it isn't on the beach (10-15 minute stroll downhill). And her comments about food are spot on too. Chips at lunchtime but evening dinner doesn't feature them.

There is an area near the pool bar which I believe is designated smoking area, however the grounds are extensive and have seen people just disappear for a walk outside after an evening meal.
