This is only a 1 star review, because it is not possible to leave any less stars. My husband and his father booked via phone with credit card and arrived on Friday night just after 10pm, the hotel was locked up, lights were off and nobody was around. After repeatedly phoning the number on the door they had to give... More

We had fairly enjoyable evening meal at the hotel but we very disappointed with the standard of accommodation and lack of customer service. We were allocated rooms 2- 4, which all smelt very strongly of damp and were not particularly clean. One rooms was missing lightbulbs and the heater wasn't working in another. When we raised concerns, we were told... More

The hotel smells of mildew. The room looked clean, but there was water in the kettle which made me wonder how clean it really was. The front hotel host seemed abrupt, but nice. We can't get to our kettle without opening the curtains, which opens out into the parking lot (1st floor). Pros: very close to lochgilphead bath tub perfect... More

Dinner courses of Scallops and Black Pudding; Smoked Haddock, poached egg and cheese/cream sauce; Fish Pie and veg; Roasted Duck Breast etc etc etc all delightfully presented and the cooked Breakfasts tasty and plentiful. We cannot understand... More

Booked in at the last minute to facilitate an easy journey on down to Tayvallich for the Jura passenger ferry the next morning (8 miles/15-20 mins drive). Staff were very helpful on the phone and on arrival advising of meal times if required. 2 cask ales on tap were in excellent condition and barman very knowledgeable. Room was a double... More

There are not a lot of hotels in the area and this one is a fairly good one. The rooms are clean and the rooms are fairly well-maintained though the common parts look a bit dated and need refurbishment. The food at the hotel is excellent and there is a lot of choice but there are set meal times so... More

9 of us stayed here prior to a trip on the Puffer. Had great evening meal, really fresh food well cooked and presented. Rooms comfortable. They even started breakfast for us early. We will be back. A great location on the Crinan canal.
