Tamarind Hills Resort and Villas is often celebrated for its serene atmosphere, with guests frequently praising the luxurious rooms that boast stunning views. However, there is a consensus that the resort may not offer the best value, as some travelers cite overpriced services and underwhelming management. The property's prime beachfront location garners consistent adoration for its picturesque vistas and easy beach access.
While the amenities and cleanliness receive commendation, suggestions for added activities and services have been noted. The rooms are spacious with design elements that impress, though comfort levels vary. Service quality is generally well-received, yet some guests suggest there is room for improvement.

This hotel has an incredible infrastructure with stunning views. It is perched on a hill overlooking white sand beaches and pristine blue water. The restaurant serves three meals a day with standard dishes that are made to perfection and specials that offer a little something extra. The beach is the main event. You must love the beach to be here which provides paddle, canoeing and on water activities that are so fun. With the lack of activity I don’t believe this is a resort that should require a three night minimum. The gym has basic equipment with weights only going up to 25 lbs. and a bathroom that is used by hotel staff. Only Mon-Fri there is an early morning activity offered. Boutique is often closed. Nothing near by - Jolly Harbour isn’t worth a visit. Executions are 30-60 minutes away and roads are terrible. The hotel needs a middle of the day option to make it feel like a resort other than a hotel like a better gym, cooking class, rum tasting class, sunset hike, art class, covered movie theater maybe where they had one of their old restaurants. Just Also sells all inclusive option but food wasn’t available when we arrived between lunch and dinner. While the exterior is gorgeous with spacious rooms the furniture in your room is low end with uncomfortable coaches and beds. A luxury resort with a three night minimum and an all inclusive option just offers a bit more.

We stayed at TH for 9 days in late April and thought the staff, location and room was excellent. The rooms are on the side of a hill so all have great views of the sea, with the room it self being spacious and very well laid out and maintained. Having the kitchenette gave us flexibility. Staff were genuinely friendly, happy and helpful. Given we stayed a while we were able to check out late which helped with the evening UK return flight. If staying more than a few days you will need a car. We did the walking tour with Vorn up Boggy Peak which was fun, but you need to be moderately fit and take water with you. Beaches by TH are great - some of the best in the island. The only let down was the food. The breakfast menu is best avoided; we did not have any of the Poke so cannot comment on ythis; the evening menu is too pretentious and limiting, but the food we had was tasty. An evening at local Miracles and The Fox House on curry night are well worth it, together with Dennis where you eat on the beack on Friday evenings. Would wholeheartly recommend Tamarind Hills.

We stayed for a week at TamarindHills in unit B7 for one week aug 2021. I can not say enough good things about the property. The B7 unit has 4 bedrooms all with en-suit bathrooms with large showers, the master has double sinks along with a huge soaker tub. There are two large common indoor areas with comfy sectional sofas and huge tv's. Air-conditioning was fantastic and each room had its own thermostat which was a godsend for me as I'm always hot and everyone else is cold. Every bedroom had its own large flat screen tv with sound bar. This Villa has so many areas to eat indoors and outdoors that I won't try and list. You can walk to Ffryes beach via a beautiful board walk/ pier or Darkwood Beach. You literally walk out your back door and go right or left and you are on two of the most beautiful beaches in the world, not to mention the mini private swimming beach just steps away. Fully equipped kitchen for cooking and making cocktails. We didn't run into a situation where we were cooking and didn't have a tool or dish/pot( cooked every night but 1) Full size brand new Samsung washer and dryer to wash up the sandy bathing suits was a huge plus! Light housekeeping every other day for linens and bathrooms. The pool is to die for!!!! We spent the most time in the pool! Perfect temperature and gorgeous views, I never wanted to leave. Our contact was Bancroft who was an absolute delight! He responded when we had questions and checked in to make sure everything was good. Everyone we interacted with on the property was phenomenal, the security guards (24 hrs) the housekeeping, landscaping and pool employees were friendly and professional. There is no construction on this side of the resort, I cannot speak to the noise on the other side of the resort but Villa B7 had zero noise from construction. Covid test for our return home was provide on site and was a 3 min walk from our villa which was soooo nice! Bancroft scheduled and even came and took us up to the unit. This is not a resort but they offer really cool services like a chef, grocery stocking, spa services, and lots more. We loved that we had more privacy than a resort, had our own pool and access to two beaches. You will not be sorry if you book this villa.

Thank you very much indeed for your fabulous review. We are delighted that you all had such a special time. B7 like all of our Beachfront and Oceanfront Villas are equipped and furnished with everything you need and all with a to die for location. The construction you mentioned which is around the other side of the property relates to our restaurant bar and beach club due for completion in November. Tamarind Hills when then be a resort. Fortunately, the majority of our guests staying in Oceanview Suites which overlook this area are sufficiently remote as to not be affected. Thank you also for the complimentary remarks about Bancroft who plays a key part in a great team. Thank you again

The view was amazing! We stayed in the beach 3 suite. However DO NOT EAT at the resort. The food was horrible. When you get drunk off the lobster bisque …. Learning it had cognac in it after the fact.,,, and no lobster. -0 at best is what I can rate the food. Filet coming out rare like it was cooked like tuna then asking them to cook it to medium only for it to be put in the microwave and cooked well done…. And then paying $300 for the meal….. get a new chef…… But plan on them nickel and dimeing you for everything. Paper towels and water should be the minimum provided for the week when paying close to $2000 a night. A recommendation to the hotel……. You should provide a shuttle to and from the grocery store or to the harbor for restaurants when it’s only five minutes. Also someone should be answering calls from the what’s app to the front desk at all hours since this is your only contact with the resort. But our view was amazing we only wish the food and service were as amazing.

Tamarind Hills has certainly earned it's status as a Small Luxury Hotel of the world. We stayed in an amazing studio with stunning panoramic views of the Caribbean that has made me feel Antigua is the most beautiful place I've ever visited. Located at the south end of Ffryes Beach, it is a stunning property with access to a variety of activities but also the ability to kick back and relax not leaving the beach for a week if that's what you want. The hotel staff are all very friendly and kind we got to know some of the bartenders and waitresses including DaVincia and Michele who could not have been kinder and provided plenty of information about Antigua - where to go/what to do beyond the basics. I still cannot get over just how clear the water was just steps from the hotel. Just down the beach you can rent anything from jetskis to paddle boards if you want to get out on the water beyond a casual swim. We couldn't have had better weather and it made for the perfect getaway from a winter climate. The first half of our stay the food was relatively mediocre and nothing to write home about. However, halfway through our stay the new executive chef (Simon) provided an updated menu that was definitely trending in the right direction - certainly excited to go back and see what the next iteration looks like. A huge credit goes to the new GM Munish who personally greeted us any time he was traversing the property and spotted us. I would absolutely give Tamarind Hills 5 stars and we will certainly be back as soon as we can!

Great location on a beautiful beach; near to but apart from the busier port and harbor. Thecresort is well-maintained and very clean. Suites are perfect for families and larger groups. Reception staff and management are very attentive. The food was delicious however the restaurant staff could use some training in customer service. It could be a lack of experience in the staff but the service isn't commensurate with the prices and resort quality. There are many nearby restaurants and it is easy to get a taxi directly to you villa door. *if you have mobility or vision issues, be aware there are many stairs and hills. Some areas have low lighting, uneven pavement, and no railings. You can get a ride up or down to your villa at any time but the beach access might be tricky.

Everything really exceeded our expectations. The views at Tamarind Hills were magnificent (especially the sunsets on the water!), the staff was super friendly and accommodating, the beach was not crowded at all, and the suites are comfortable and spacious with large balconies. My only suggestion would be to bring some food and a few large bottles of water when you arrive since they only provided two small bottles daily and the water isn’t potable. (We brought our own coffee too and just boiled water on the induction oven for a few minutes - I’d also recommend bringing coarse ground coffee since they provide a French press in the suites.) Dennis’s bar is a very short walk down the beach and we were able to have a few lunches there. It will be nice when the new restaurant is open to have another dining option nearby. There was some construction going on during the day but it wasn’t too bothersome. We ended up getting taxis to nearby restaurants most evenings since it’s not a very walkable area. (Try the Fox House for dinner, just a short drive away.)

My stay at the hotel was an absolute nightmare filled with disappointment and frustration. The staff managment and the owner displayed an appalling level of rudeness and lack of professionalism that left me speechless. The managerManish Goyal was the most nonchalant service Personsl I've ever met. His attitude was not only unprofessional but also bordered on outright hostility.
To make matters worse, the hotel engaged in false advertising, luring guests with promises that were never fulfilled. The amenities that were boasted about were either non-existent or in a state of disrepair. It felt like a deliberate attempt to mislead and deceive guests, which is completely unacceptable.
When I approached the management about my concerns, their response was dismissive and unapologetic. They seemed more interested in deflecting blame and avoiding responsibility than addressing the issues at hand. It was clear that customer satisfaction was not a priority for them.
The hotel owner's behavior was equally disappointing. Instead of taking accountability for the poor experience, they displayed a condescending and arrogant attitude. It was evident that they had no intention of rectifying the situation or making amends.
Overall, my experience at this hotel was nothing short of a nightmare. The rude staff management, false advertising, and lack of professionalism left me deeply dissatisfied. I would strongly advise against staying at this establishment, as it is clear that they prioritize profit over customer satisfaction.

We had a beautiful room, very clean, private and high quality bathroom, just missing the hand shower on the shower, why skimp on that… and great views. Good quality outdoor terrace furniture and unlimited supply of bottled water.
The rest was not great given the money we spent.
Breakfast a joke, awful food and surly service, little fresh fruit and the buffet inedible. We ate omelettes every day as they were freshly cooked and quite nice. The manager, who we met once, should either see what is going or or send a mystery shopper to observe breakfast.
Dinner awful, we ate once and then went out, very nice nearby restaurant, Sheer Rocks, walkable for lunch (10mins via the beach) taxi for dinner as too dark to navigate on foot. This became our local.
Beach is lovely, but on check in you hear the dreaded words, “sunbeds are on a first come first served basis”; words I do not want to hear but it was not a problem, however the hotel was quiet , but they were very uncomfortable, see picture, not a 5 star sunbed. Service on the beach was patchy and we gave up trying to get drinks.
There is no bar area, just bar stools beside the restaurant and the servers, so not relaxing. As a result no vibe is created in the hotel; they try with a Tapas Bar between 4pm and 7pm but no one goes and service again is patchy.
Overall it has great potential but we wont return.

They say that there are so many beaches and resorts it's hard to pick just one in Antigua. We happened to pick the right one for us. Beautifully situated on a hillside over looking Ffreyes beach. The condos are rented out in various stages of amenities Ours was a one bedroom/studio. Deck is full with ocean views and breezes plus a private outdoor hot tub. Cool mixed furnishings. Good bedding. Well laid out rooms. Bathtub, twin sinks and a rain shower. Maid service daily. Plus it had a kitcheonette with enough appliances and supplies to stay and cook as much as you would like. The small resort of course has a bar/restaurant for lunch and dinner. All good there. Breakfast is optional i think. It's OK. Better to do it yourself in the room. The pool is clean and beautiful with bar service if desired. And speaking of service the staff - all of them- are a lovely friendly funny and talented crew. The beach is a real beauty. Ocean water, the bluest azure kind, is swimmable. Short walks along the beach to a few other bar, grill joints and even an ocean toys rental shack. I can't imagine a better place for us (two adults) than Tamarind Hills. Not sure there's much for kids there though. Be good to have a car if you want to explore the island. We just used taxis. One thing- be prepared to hoof it up to your room. The climb is steep. They do provide a little shuttle service to help out and you can drive up to some of the rentals as well.

Dear Valued Guests, Thank you for choosing Tamarind Hills for your Antigua getaway and for taking the time to share such a detailed and positive review of your experience. We are delighted to hear that our resort, with its stunning hillside location overlooking Ffryes Beach, was the perfect choice for you. It sounds like you thoroughly enjoyed everything from the breathtaking ocean views and private hot tub on your deck to the comfort of our well-appointed condos. We're glad you found the kitchenette well-equipped for your needs and that you appreciated the cleanliness of our pool and the option of bar service. Your compliments about our bar/restaurant, along with the acknowledgment of our dedicated and friendly staff, mean the world to us. It’s also great to know that you took advantage of our beautiful beach and the nearby amenities. We understand the climb to the rooms can be a bit challenging, and we're pleased that our shuttle service was helpful. While Tamarind Hills offers a serene and adult-friendly environment, we do take note of your observation regarding facilities for children. We continuously seek ways to enhance our guest experience for all age groups and we are actively considering this in our near future planning. For those wishing to explore the island, using taxis or renting a car, as you mentioned, are excellent options, and we're always here to assist with arrangements. We are incredibly grateful for your recommendation and can’t wait to welcome you back for another memorable stay. Until then, we wish you all the best!

It depends what you are looking for. We do have many families with children of that age who have a great time. However, we do not have a Kids Club or any activities for children. All of our villas and suites have lots of space, but the balconies and steps would not necessarily be considered child friendly. We do not have a children's menu, but the kitchen always has plenty of options for the younger generation
