I stayed at the Desert Quiver Camp last year when my mother visited and absolutely loved it - I felt the same way about Desert Camp during my stay there when my father visited in March. A bit more of a camping feel here than at the Quiver Camp, which we very much enjoyed, and the oryx who wanders around...

After an exhausting drive we arrived at the desert camp. It has about 10-20 tent houses all with shower, hot water, water flush toilet and pretty big rooms. Kitchen on the veranda. Very nice. Small pool and breakfast at the lodge - about 10 minutes drive. The dinner at the lodge is a must - amazing! Very nice and a...

Lovely setting, we arrived at this oasis after a long, hot, dusty drive from Swakopmund, and were delighted to find their small swimming pool had the coolest water temperature that we experienced on our entire trip. Rooms do get very hot and no air con, so the fan was as good as it got, but the setting made up for...

After a long drive from Windhoek airport we arrived at Desert Camp aroun 19:00. Even though they state on the website that the reception is open only until 18:00, they were open and the staff was waiting for us. The check-in took only 5 minutes and we got the keys to our tents (or semi tents). As we are 4...

The tented camps are very nice. The bathrooms are large. Rooms very clean. The views from the rooms are the main attraction. You can see wildlife right there. The view of the mountains at sunrise and sunset is stunning. There is a lovely pool. There is also a small bar with a TV. Wifi is spotty but that's normal for...

We stayed one night at the desert camp. On arrival we checked in. Our tent was beautiful and clean. The outside kitchen was a very nice feature. When we had unpacked we noticed that there were no kitchen utensils or pots and pans. We went to the pool to cool down and asked on of the employees if we could...

Dear Christy, Thank you for the great rating and review! Glad you enjoyed our beautiful clean tents. Our staff at reception are suppose to inform you upon check-in of the utensil boxes if you are self-catering - our apologies that they didn't do that at your arrival. The fully refundable deposit is the same concept of paying a breakage fee...

We stayed here two nights. The tents are beautiful, peaceful and allow for a great experience. It was very hot and the fan did not help at all, so keep that in mind. While this location is away from the main camp in Sossusvlei it is much quieter than the main camp. We had our meals at the main camp...

Stayed 2 nights at a wonderful location. Experience tranquility with beautiful sunsets and sunrises. Chalets are comfortable and clean. Animals walk to waterhole within 50 meters of chalets. Very nice pool area and you can order your food requirements from nearby lodge, delivered at your doorstep. Enjoy a Southern African braai whilst watching a magic sunset.

Very nice place, although there are quite a lot of tents at Desert Camp, they are arranged in a way that it does not feel crowded, you rather feel lonely in the desert. Tent was very clean, kitchen and barbecue area perfect for a relaxed evening with self catering.
