We arrived after a full day and Farm Holmur was very welcoming. We were delighted with the restaurant - splendid view, fine food, craft beer and friendly service. The rooms are in an older house with a pleasant farm feel decor.

We passed by the Farm in Holmur on a rainy day so the actual zoo-visit wasn't unforgettable, but our dinner at the cafe-restaurant was more than good. We had our best meal of Iceland in that cosy place and we could recommend it to everyone. Kind people!

My boyfriend and I stayed at Holmur Guesthouse for 2 nights a few weeks ago and it was one of the best experiences we had in Iceland. I really can't say enough about the couple that runs this guesthouse - Maggi and Gudrun. They are the kindest, most hospitable people we met there. The room was clean and cozy, and...

We stayed there for a night on our way out north. It's a nice family run place. Nothing fancy, but a good clean, inexpensive place to stop for the night. The family who owns the farm is very nice and friendly. The place has a small farm petting zoo with chickens, geese, goats and many other farm animals and a...

i stayed here 2 nights when I first got to Iceland. The owner greeted me and my friend and showed us the room. There are 6 rooms he rents and 2 bathrooms so plan your showers accordingly. Luckily when I was there the place wasn't full so it wasn't a problem. The walls are thin so bring earplugs if you...

Staying in a near by guesthouse, our host recommended stopping by the farm as they have a petting zoo and a cafe. After a little under an hour's drive we arrived the reception was empty and closed. We made our way to the cafe to find the hosts having lunch. As we entered they just merely looked at us and...

Nice and quiet, owners are terrific, easy to find, wonderful place to stay. The on-sight restaurant serves great food [the amazing apple cake and the molten chocolate cake should not be missed]. To get an idea of how nice the owners are, we saw the owner drive out and pick up a traveler on the ring road. Wandering around the...

We stopped to see all the farm animals. Pig, cow, rabbits, birds, juvenile reindeer, chickens, sheep, lambs, ducks & geese. A self-guided walk thru the barn and out to the fields. And one very lazy dog. Nice stop on the way around the ring road. There is also a cafe.

The place was OK, nothing special. But we had a bad experience. By our own poor planning and unfamiliarity with Iceland gas purchasing ways (i.e. you need a pre-paid gas card to buy gas after 6 pm or so) we were almost out of gas when we arrived late in the night. In fact we weren't even sure if we'd...

My husband and I decided to go to Iceland for our honeymoon, and chose a variety of different places to stay in. One of our favorite places was Farm Holmur on the southern coast. It is a bit out of the way, but is exceptionally beautiful and the family who runs it is very kind. They serve delicious meals which...
