This is a simple place to stay. The family that operates the hotel is very nice and treat you like family. The breakfast buffet was decent and the dinner very good. The rooms are clean and we had no problems.

There are few choices in this area, but we found this hotel to be a nice place to stay. There is also a very nice cafe just down the street. As others mentioned the room was basic but comfortable, clean and quiet. The restaurant at the hotel was among the best we experienced in Iceland for the price - superb...

The room was very basic but met all our needs. The room was clean and neat, very simple. It was a great base from which to explore the nearby national park. There were not a lot of choices in the area but we were happy. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Not great, but works. Restaurant was ok. Service was generally fine, but the wait staff in the restaurant was annoyed that we actually showed up to breakfast. Not a good move on her part to complain about it to a co-worker. She probably assumed we didn't speak Icelandic because we were speaking english. Bad assumption - two of us were...

I booked this hotel about 3 months before arrival through Booking.com for 2 nights of a 10 day trip to Iceland. I was out touring and read my email the evening before arrival only to find that the hotel had informed Booking.com that my room had been canceled. To make this worse it was on an Icelandic holiday weekend where...

We visited (as a couple) in late February 2015 and toured Iceland in just short of two weeks, and out of every place we spent the night, this was exceptionally poor in comparison to the rest. There was a horrific snow storm (winds reaching 40 m/s) the day we set out to them, it was very dangerous and there was...

I stayed one night in this hotel during a 15-day trip through Iceland. We checked into this hotel very late due to the beautiful sunset, late check-in was no issue at all. The hotel is very quiet and has a parking lot in front of it. My room was next to the street but no cars were passing by all...

This hotel is right on the main road and our room didn't really have a view even though we booked and paid for it!! The room is spacious, has free wifi, fridge and TV.The black-out curtains are too short and don't fill up the window. Curtains could be longer, the existing ones let in too much light. Needs two pillows...

As this is the only place to stay in 'town' (and pretty much the only place for miles around) we weren't expecting much, but were pleasantly surprised. It looks boxy and plain, but the staff are lovely, the rooms spacious, light and clean (with blackout curtains, a must for the never-setting sun) and the beds lovely and comfortable. The bathroom...

Stayed here with a Gate 1 tour group. We were just there for one night as a stop over. The town is small. Literally one gas station/store and a small museum within walking distance. The room was basic, no frills. The bar and restaurant were good with a buy one get one happy hour special. We had the best fish...
