Tortuga is a very special place. It lies in an idyllic beach made of volcanic black sand just outside Sao Felipe. Rooms are nice and clean and the host, Roberto, is very friendly and helpful. Dinners are amazing: a different kind of fish every day, fresh from the morning catch, wonderfully cooked with the appropriate recipe. It is definitely the... More

Roberto created a very cosy and romantic place directly at a nice beach, just 30 minutes to walk from Sao Felipe. The rooms are clean and nicely decorated, each with own shower & toilet. Very quiet, very remote - the ideal place to relax from an extended hiking tour. Delicious breakfast, and also dinner. Of course its not low budget... More

The authenticity of the place is remarkable, just in front of the sea. Roberto was a great host, cooked terrific dinners and organized an incredible tour/hike to Mount Fogo. In summary, what an experience :) Definitely recommended!!!

Tortuga B&B is a very beautiful place: secluded from the town, on a nice beach, having a view to incredible sunsets every night and the sound of waves at night. You can also have internet access. Roberto is a good host and a great chef: he was spoiling us with wonderful fish dishes which were different every night. Roberto can... More

Roberto was the perfect host, providing excellent food, wonderful service and a very warm welcome. Tortuga is beautiful and gently secluded, looking directly out onto a beautiful black sand beach. The rooms are simple and comfortable, the garden and views are lovely, and nothing is too much trouble for Roberto. Perfect for a romantic get away or for families looking... More

I can't express how emotional is the location of this excellently family run B&B. It is breathtaking! The fish the owner can offer you is so delicate and tasty I can recommend to visit Fogo, and probably Cape Verde, for just this reason. Everything is great here. No esitation to recommend it!

If you want peace and quiet, a kind of priviledged seclusion, then go to Tortuga. It may take a day or two to get into the pace of life but it is an incredibly relaxing place. The sea is warm and easy for swimming, and you'll be on your own, apart from the occasional fisherman. The owners keep out of... More

What Anna and Roberto are offering is fare more than a dream! The small B&B house just in front of the sea, 10 minutes drive from Sao Filipe city. You only hear the waves, but they can be quite loud. A small house with 4 bedrooms with their private bathrooms. On the ground floor you only can get into your bathroom... More

“We stayed in the beautiful Ibiscus room, with a stair case leading to the front door, sheltered with large banana leaves, you felt like you were in the tree house. Large, comfortable double bed, sound of the sea roaring through the window, and lovely efficient shower en suite.”
