Actually, this trip was in September 2008. Although very low tech and low-fi this place was exactly what people say they want from an island holiday. 100% natural environment without a single care in the world. Yes the food is simple but you are not left hungry or undernourished as it is all fresh and local and probably pretty organic....

We stayed here in 2008 and i really should have added a review as the place was amazing! We had booked via hostelworld but obviously there was an issue as the owners weren't aware we were due to stay (this happened a couple of times with hostelworld - again in Auckland). Anyway, they quickly arranged the bure for us and...

My wife and I took our 7 children to this beautiful resort and were absolutely delighted with our week there. The staff was extremely helpful and available, but respected our privacy. Having the beach to ourselves was wonderful. The kids could safely play in the sand and water and found a variety of nice shells. We all enjoyed the snorkeling....

OK, positive things first: the beach is beautiful and the place is very peaceful. But be prepared for rats and cockroaches in the night and thieves in the daytime. We traveled around the world and stayed in 70 different places and Bayside was the only place where we were robbed. Take all your valuables with you when having lunch/dinner, because...

We loved Bayside. It's run by a very nice, laid back Fijian family who keep it beautifully and cook great food. They're a funky young couple with two gorgeous kiddies and we appreciated the fact that they gave us lots of space - we just talked to them at mealtimes and did our own thing the rest of the time....

Bayside resort was truly a magical experience! If you are after hot showers, gourmet food and pampering however, it isn't for you! Bayside is roughing it :) There were even rats in one of the bures :P But that all didn't matter! We had the beach entirely to ourselves and we were so relaxed that we couldn't even get out...
