Paradise does not adequately describe this place. I could not stop smiling as we headed towards the shore, seeing a man in tribal dress standing on a very high rock, and then being welcomed with music and singing on the beach. As we pulled up on the beach a school of sardines swimming near the boat all jumped out of...

We visited barefoot kuata after much research into the island, we were not disappointed. We decided to stay in a dorm, no better way to meet many people this way. Our dorm was clean, tidy and spacious and was situated right on the beach amazing. The food was a buffet for breakfast lunch and dinner. There were lots of variations...

Hi Katrina, Thanks so much for your feedback. We find it valuable in gauging whether we are getting things right and good to see you found your stay with us on the whole enjoyable. We do organize free walks to the caves where you can learn more about the history of the island and how locals used to live here...

Forget typical expectations and ideals of an affordable adventure island..this amazing gem of a destination will exceed and surpass all. Unique in every detail.. the memorable first welcome with the lone warrior dancing atop a magestic rock in the distance, and the guitar-playing and singing traditional troupe awaiting you on the beach with their bold Bula chant to kick off...

Nice resort/hostel, friendly Fijian staff and it's located on a beautiful island. The Accomadation is right over looking the water. I think it has the potential for much more. The food was fairly basic. The activities are extremely disorganised. I went to the island to do the shark dive, then to be told I can't because I don't have a scuba...

Dear Chloe, Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry that you couldn't see sharks and we would have loved to have taken you but, unfortunately, there was a few reasons we couldn't : - Although contacting us through our website through a page which is clearly indicates only certified divers can do the shark dive, you arrived without being...

What a great place to visit to get a true "Fijian experience". The staff were friendly, food good, and the shark snorkel a great way to get a good view of the local inhabitants! I hear the shark dive is absolutely fantastic so will put that on my agenda for my next visit. The twin en-suite beach bure was really...

Beautiful place with a great snorkel area right in front of the room. The snorkeling with whitetip sharks is simply amazing. Food is good. We had the fiji night buffet and the Kava ceremony. Room is clean and comfortable. Truly recommend

Beautiful resort with great staff! - when is there not great staff in Fiji? Amazing holiday with my 22 year old and 14 year old sons. Lots of walks - even to the top of the opposite island rock! Only downside was the state of our bathroom - we had one of the cottages. bathroom was grotty -seriously in need...

We had a day trip to barefoot Kuata. We went on the trip were you can swim with sharks, which was an incredible experience. We then had a really good lunch. We got to meet some lovely ladies sitting in a cave, selling things they had made. We got to borrow snorkelling equipment and stand up paddle board for free....

Can't praise this resort enough! As soon as we stepped off our boat transfer, the staff were so welcoming and friendly. Kuata island itself is beautiful with snorkelling opportunities right off the beach and caves a short walk away. We stayed in a safari en-suite bure which we loved, quite different to other rooms we had during our trip. Opening...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Now part of the Barefoot Collection, Barefoot Kuata Island is about the feeling of freedom and living in harmony with our environment. We don't refer to our island as a "resort". Our eco-lodges are about living simply and sustainably. Rather than a tourist destination run by technology, Kuata is run by the warmth of its' people and the beauty of the environment. Our island is deliberately uncomplicated, unfussy and unpretentious. The breath-taking coral gardens, situated just off the coastline are amongst the finest in the world and allow you to snorkel right from the beach. We offer visitors a tranquil environment and our eco-lodge is the perfect destination for nature lovers in search of a one of the few Fijian islands unspoiled by man. Guests can expect unparalleled snorkelling excursions with reef tip sharks, beautiful coastal and forest trails, visits to nearby Fijian villages, kayaking...the list is endless. Step onto our island and lose yourself in the world of Blue Lagoon and Castaway. Settle into "Fiji Time," and you'll come to discover a virtual treasure trove of things to explore - both on land and in the surrounding waters. ... more   less
