I planned to stay for 3 days and ended up staying a week. Grande Riviere is stunning and you will not able to help yourself but become completely relaxed. I was there in August and spent most of my time walking up and down the beach during the day collecting up tiny hatchlings that had chosen the wrong time of...

Make sure you get a room on the first floor overlooking the beach and you'll have a fabulous time. Ok, you are pretty captive by the restaurant (which is a bit overpriced) and sleeping through the crashing surf may be challenging for some. Stay a couple of nights in August and go swimming and rescuing baby leatherback turtles in the...

This place feels a bit like an oasis on a very remote location. Getting there from the airport is a very long ride on a bumpy road, but accompanied with some nice reggae tunes it makes it fun. The accommodation is pretty good. Rooms are clean, have airco and mosquito nets. We stayed on the top floor, they have excellent...

The turtle watching experience - which is why you would go to Mt Plasir is quite simply AMAZING. The rooms are very spacious and clean; great views with the sound of the surf crashing in on you; the staff very helpful; food good; do not try to go on the beach on your own at night; the drive very looong...

On the beach, I mean ON THE BEACH - sometimes the sound of the surf is so loud you can hardly hear anything else. LOVE IT. In turtle nesting season after dark, and if you are very lucky sometimes before dark the female giant leatherback turtle comes to nest in the dozens and sometimes hundreds. I'm told the record is...

The perfect hotel to stay for watching the Leatherback Turtles. I can't say anything negative about the hotel: clean accommodating second floor room for 3 people, air conditioning, mosquito nets to sleep under, good food in the restaurant, and location adjacent to beach is perfect. We virtually had the place to ourselves since we were there in the middle of...

Best leatherback turtle experience possible. Watch them lay their eggs from your patio. The restaurant is spectacular. Freshly caught fish, cheese made up the road by the owner and the chef, and all kinds of interesting dishes. Very reasonable prices. Rooms are very nice and even feature air conditioning. Sleep with your patio door open and listen to the ocean...

We stayed at this hotel in early April. Room was fine apart from the fact we had no water, and the problem was not solved until the proprietor saw my wife wandering around in the early hours with a bucket! The food was good, the location stunning and the turtle viewing unforgettable. We had the good luck to see a...

Went to Grand Riviere to see the leatherback turtles and thought the best place to be was right on the beach. So, for that reason we chose Mt. Plaisir, and it came highly recommended by acquaintance. It is a small, rustic hotel that is perfectly situated on the beach. The ground floor rooms are converted horse stables, which give it...

A group of 6 of us went to watch the nesting of the leather back turtles. Mt. Plaisir is really ther only hotel that has direct access to the beach. This was much more than we expected. Check in and check out were fast and no problems. The rooms decent, air conditiomned with traditional mosquito nets. The food good for the...
