The Hotel is a top recommendation to nature lovers since it is situated in a remote fishing village next to a river on a large beach and rain forest nearby. The nature is unique, one of the best tropical settings we have experienced so far. It is a top spot to observe large leatherback turtles on the beach. Bathing is...

Acajou is very rustic and natural and peaceful. The staff were courteous and friendly. The wifi was very efficient. It is in close proximity to the beach and there are numerous birds on the property. My children enjoyed staying there due to the fact that the experience was very different to a normal hotel stay. I would definitely recommend this...

The cabins are really beautifully built. Very comfortable bed. There was not a coffee maker only instant coffee with a kettle. The breakfast was excellent every morning. Service also was excellent ,which for trinidad says a lot. The fish for dinner was not good at all so we would recommend Mt Plaisir for dinner. The grounds are lovely and we...

Great location for seeing the turtles. The Stars visible in the night sky are breathtaking. The hotel staff were flexible and supportive. Felt very safe. Note that the drive from Port of Spain is 3 hrs and there is a section of road that needs repair - I had to take this section slowly in my rental car. Kids didn't...

Sorry it's long but here is the honest break down... My family (2 adults and 2 kids under 5) returned from a mini stay-cation (3 nights) from Acajou, Grande Riverie (see other post for review on Grande Riverie). Acajou was a mostly pleasant experience and we do plan on returning but there was only one discouraging factor hence the 4...

My favourite retreat on the planet. Very comfortable, well maintained room with a wonderful open patio with deck chairs and a hammock where a large part of my waking hours are spent in the bosom of nature. The food is good and consistent, and the service, in that rural setting, really good.

We really had a wonderful stay. Everything was perfect: nice accommodation, great food, professional guide for the turtles. We were in paradise :-) No stress, only relaxation. For sure the place to stay.

The place was clean and naturally maintained beautifully. The scenic view for river meets ocean was very appealing to the eye. The breakfast menu was complementary and you had a choice from the menu. The room was not air conditioned but cool enough for sleep.

Truly special resort with strong attention to detail and great team to make it happen. Seeing a leatherback lay her eggs on an evening was memorable, such an amazing creature. Even got to witness a new born leatherback hatch and crawl to the sea. Nature at it's best !

The family room was great a pity it rained so much. However it was advertise as a family accommodation sleeping a max of 4 persons price per room but on checkout we were told that the room are charged per person the only damper on a otherwise great stay. Getting there was an adventure with a section of very bad...
