This review is for the restaurant only. Stop by here on our way to the next adventure. The restaurant has a complicated layout. We were seated right away in the back. Seemed like a private area for special event...nice and clean and formal. The soup and burger were ok. The Riverside chicken was good. We requested to have the sauce...

We called in to eat passing through the village, and were enchanted by the lovely old world atmosphere, friendly staff, oodles of food, and all at reasonable prices. The close spaced tables add to the charm...we're tourists, we want to hear people's conversation. It was Sunday afternoon and very busy, and we 'd just driven through a thunder downpour outside...

Received a warm west of Ireland welcome and had wonderful dinner and breakfast in a homely unique family environment. Had a pint next door in a traditional Irish pub reminiscent of the last century engaging in conversation with the locals. It is in the centre of Charlestown and we will be back in Riverside on future adventures. Wonderful

Stopped in for a bite to eat on our journey home .... staff are friendly and the place is clean and quaint a little bit open so not much privacy and there didn't seem to be any background music on to avoid you hearing other people's conversation. .... ordered steak which to be honest was tough and stringy and bland...

Have been here many times food is great and service is always efficient. On this occasion we had steak and turkey and ham and we were all very satisfied. Portion sizes quite large after only having a main course we weren't able for desert which is a good complaint really.

Booked this over 12 month's ago. 2nd visit to Charlestown, 1st time I've stayed in the riverside and definitely won't be my last. About to check out now and already booking it again for New Years week. Anthony Kelly, his family, Lisa and all the staff simply can't do enough for you. Food is absolutely perfect (especially the 10oz steak),...

In need of a break on our drive to Westport, we stopped off in Charlestown and found this little gem. The food was freshly prepared and so tasty! In such a serene and quaint setting it was the perfect stop off. We will certainly be back when we're on our travels again.

We had the pleasure of staying three nights at the Riverside Restaurant Bed and Breakfast in Charlestown, County Mayo, and our stay couldn't have been better. Though modestly furnished, our room was comfortable with small-town character to spare, and the restaurant itself far exceeded our pub grub expectations. Be sure to try chef Anthony Kelly's own creation, Chicken Riverside, and...

Recently visited the riverside Restaurant , the food tasted good all homemade, however the presentation could have been so much better, very basic with no trimmings! The restaurant looked rundown and could definitely do with a makeover, the staff were nice and friendly but lacked professionalism and was obvious that it was coming to the end of their shift. Unless...

Been using the Riverside as a base for our weekend golfing tour for 25 years. The service is always top notch with friendly, attentive staff. The food is outstanding and for a group of over thirty thirsty golfers we were once again spolied beyond anything we had a right to expect. There is a real strong sense of old Ireland...

“As I said if you don't mind a little traffic the rooms at the front are fine, mind you it was a warm night and I had my window open, otherwise ask for a room maybe at the back, it honestly was not that bad as its in a quite area the whole town is quite not big on nightlife or entertaining but very present .”
