My whole family and I, are all more than delighted!
Our experiences considering this fine luxurious hotel, are totally positive.
The estetics are extraordinary high, concerned architecture etc.
What complete your stay is for sure the staff at this place.
We will especially recommend the chief waiter Manolis. This wonderful and professional person makes your day, every day. He welcomes you every morning, lunch and dinner, with kindness and a big heart.
Our stay would never be the same without him.
You receive the same feeling when you meet the most loving giving Socrates. Now he’s working at the pool bar during day, and piano bar at night. This special person makes you feel more than special yourself.
Also Nola is one of a kind. She gives the place a mix of professionalism and heart. Without her, the visits in the Al fresco, would fail. She’s really a special, and adorable chief waitress.
We also miss our pool boy, our women in the mini market.
The hotel chiefs, and the sweet receptionists.
All in all; this place is the best summer residence in the world.
We will see you all again, - for the 6. time, for sure.
Much love
Susan, and family

2018 was my 2nd visit to Avra Imeperial - and once again it was a wonderful experience. We were 2 adults and 3 children in 2 suites for 2 weeks. Accommodation was fantastic.
Check-in was very good, especially the fact that we arrived very late, and our luggage was transported to our room after check-in was a great help.
Daily cleaning was very good, and the buffet restaurant is just amazing.
During the holiday we so mush enjoyed our holiday life by the leisure pool and the service from the pool bar.
Hotel management recognized us as repeating guests and we felt recognized with special treatment. (Lots of cakes and pastries was sent to our room complementary) very delicious.
We had several meetings with the staff where we felt more like friends/family than repeating guests.
A special warm welcome we had from Nola, Socrates and Manolis - we love you all, and hope to return soon,
Best regards
Susan, Oscar, Asta, Ella and Henrik from Denmark & Lanzarote

Family holiday with a 2 and 4 year old. Food was great. Staff were really friendly. The reception staff were really helpful. The bar staff in the bar and pool bar were cheerful. Even the car hire company in the hotel were helpful organizing us a Jeep for Balos. We loved Falassarna, Elafonisi and Marathi. Cretan breakfast restaurant was a nice touch. First night we appreciated them letting us grab some food from the buffet when it was closing with 2 hungry little kids. All the restaurant staff were attentive and friendly. Porters were even great helping with all the bags. Bad weather mornings we used the spa with kids which was appreciated. The piano player was excellent - I hope you keep him for next season! We stayed in a 5 star hotel in Sitia in 2017 and the Avra is leagues ahead. Thanks for a great holiday.

We stayed for 3 nights in Avra Imperial Hotel, in a Superior Room with Private Pool, with the breakfast and dinner included formula, which gave us free access to the spa and all pools.

This hotel offers very diverse kinds of rooms so the site is huge. Hence, the valet drove us to our room the first night, with a golf buggy.

Considering the activites:

The spa has a kid hours (10am-12am) but since we only went after 12am, it was not really crowdy. The jacuzzi is quite pleasant, the hammam and the sauna are relaxing. NB: Lockers and showers are available inside.

We did not try the main pool since the water was quite cold due to the arriving autumn but the snack bar offers a fair choice of cocktails and finger foods. Plus: it is possible to eat in the pool since chairs are available on an edge.

An alley is also available to walk to the beach (5min walk from the main pool) with sunbeds, parasols and showers. Again, due to the temperature of the water, we did not swim in the sea but this would have been very appreciable during summer time.

Considering the meals, due to our formula, we only ate at the main buffet which menu changes every evening (breakfast menu is pretty much always the same but very large). Special greetings to Marko who recommanded us a great bottle of red the first night, Ioannis for his enthusiasm the last two nights.

To conclude, it is a nice place to stay for those who are looking for rest and relaxation. There are also pretty beaches around (Elafonissi to a 1-hour drive or Agii Apostoli to a 30-min drive for example) if you want a more spectacular stay.

Thank you to the whole staff for making our holidays wonderful!

It’s the main buffet restaurant or you can book for the cretan a la carte. For the other restauarants you have an allowance towards the cost of the meal.

I really think you should book a transfer because the hotel Avra is very, very far from the airport. I think with a taxi you will pay a fortune. Definitely take transfer!!!
