We only had the one night here as it was one of several hotels we used on the Cami de Cavalls which is a walking tour of the whole island First impressions were very good.. modern bright and airy and check-in was completed quickly with no fuss with a very nice receptionist who explained the hotel facilities such as the two swimming pools and how breakfast worked We had a studio apartment which was fine but may have proved a little cramped if staying for a week or two.. it was all spotlessly clean and a good standard The bathroom was the same, with the shower actually turning out to be the best so far. We did use the indoor pool which was fine so didn’t see the rooftop one as it was raining that day. Whilst we both agreed the apartment was lovely, as was the comfy bed, neither of us slept well due to the general noise going on throughout the night. This wasn’t helped with laminated floors in the corridors or the sizeable gap around the room door meaning any sound went straight through it. Breakfast was…. Ok , which is fine but suspect most may make their own if staying here a while.. we also ate in the bar for our evening meal which was good and fantastic value for money

This hotel is very centrally located on the island, making it especially desirable if renting a car and wanting to explore each region of the island as we did. With just a 10-30 minute drive you can easily access pretty much anywhere on the island. Parking was only available on side streets, but fairly easy to figure out and convenient. Bus service runs through town for those who don’t have access to a car. We stayed in a studio apartment (#103) which made our three week stay especially pleasant. The twin beds were adequate, though perhaps a bit on the hard side. The balcony overlooked an inner courtyard area with a view of the hills in the distance. The kitchen was fully equipped with dishes, pots and pans, cutlery, dish soap, cloths and more. The fridge/freezer worked great and allowed us to be prepared with frozen water bottles prior to each of our beach days and hiking treks. The bathroom was beautifully remodelled. Housekeeping staff kept the room impeccably clean and tidy each and every day. The rooftop pool and jacuzzi were lovely, with a spectacular view of the town and surrounding hills. Tables and loungers were available for use. The reception desk staff were all very friendly and helpful. Thank you to Maria Angeles, Fabian and Deri for your hospitality. They certainly set the tone for our stay with their friendly greetings upon our comings and goings and tourist tips. We were especially grateful to Deri (one of the owners) who graciously accommodated our late request for visiting friends to have a suite near us for their time with us. We ate a few times at the attached bar restaurant. Prices were very reasonable, with generous portions of delicious food. One of our favorite parts of this location was the opportunity to be at the center of a real town community rather than the seasonal tourist towns. Just steps away from the hotel was the town square with surrounding shops and restaurants, live music and dancing, a gelato shop and pastesserie. It was a unique and joyous experience to be able to soak in a different community and culture. We would not hesitate to return and we would highly recommend this hotel and location, especially to those who rent a car and want to explore. Loar Ferreries is a wonderful “home base” while on holidays!

Receptionists were not always present and not the friendliest. Breakfast was a HUGE disappointment, the so-called "buffet" (a couple of trays with cold meats and cheese, hard bread and day-old pastries) was absolutely laughable, upon request we did get eggs and bacon (unwillingly), coffe and juice. We complained, they explained they don't open the restaurant in "low season". They should state it so in the web and here, point out it is breakfast "a la carte" (and that is a stretch) in winter. Very clean property but staff not willing and very poor breakfast.

We stayed at the apartamentos side of the hotel. Convenient, practical and clean accommodation for e.g. headquarters for hiking trip. Nice kitchenette and clean bathroom, good beds and self-service laundry. Plenty of good restaurants and cafes nearby. One note on noise. When the restaurant closed, they moved tables around, creating quite a lot of noise for a while, transferred suprisingly well through structures.

Comfortable self catering apartment with a choice of 2 pools, jacuzzi and sauna - but as we were there in October we stuck to the pool and sauna on the ground floor. The kitchen is fine with 2 rings and a plentiful supply of tea towels (we needed our washing up liquid) and there is almost instant and copious hot water for showers and washing up. The apartment was serviced every day and kept very clean. Good sound-proofing - we didn't hear any neighbours although being near the main square you can hear the Friday sumba class which stops before 9pm and there was a wedding reception one night but that also finished early-ish.

What I liked about Ferreries is that it is not tourist style, as many places in the south of Menorca. The location of the hotel is fine, the service is ok, the rooms clean - a good standard. The jacuzzi a bit too cold.

If you want to see the whole island, then this is the place to stay. My wife and I had the best holiday ever and the Loar provides the perfect base to fan out to the various locations. The apartment we stayed in was basic but perfectly equipped for our needs. The staff cleaned it immaculately and the beds were very comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful and Deri particularly went out of his way to help us have the best holiday. The pool on the roof has the best view over the town and we had it to ourselves most days when we returned from our hikes. AAAAA++++

Swimming pool is more than cold, sauna is definitely not a place to go and probably broke since longtime, employees lied about everything and actually it's looking more like retired house..way too expensive.

We were placed in this hotel after being evacuated from our villa when the tornado brought down the pylons and left the bulk of the island without electric. This hotel had a generator placed outside it so it could still function. The staff were very friendly, spoke good English, even though we tried to speak Spanish. The rooms were a good size, with a small balcony, fitted wardrobes, fridge and en suite bathroom with full soap and shower gel dispensers. All very clean. The hotel has a restaurant and a bar attached to it offering good value meals. I can highly recommend the handmade pizzas, all available without gluten too. Thank you for looking after us.
