Fabulous food and service in the beach front restaurant where lunch and dinner is served . Rooms clean and bright . Breakfast limited and a little uninspired. We went at the end of October and Crete appears to shut down - which is a shame...More

Our decision to take a late season all-inclusive break at the privately owned and managed Hotel Thalassi proved to be a resounding success. Our hosts, Eva and Demitri and their son, Anthonis were extremely welcoming and attentive throughout our 10 days stay, as were all...More

On arrival we were greeted by Eva who we would honestly say after 2 weeks we consider a friend. She said they had put a bottle of water and sandwiches in our room. We thought this was a lovely gesture as it has never happened...More

hi, as there are mostly excellent reviews it seems to be a good choice, but a few things are consistently coming up that I wonder if you could answer honestly from being there. 1. Did you feel completely relaxed around the hosts? I don't want to feel that we have to walk on eggshells the whole holiday. I get the language barrier which is fine, but would not want to feel intimidated, or suffer unnecessary rudeness. what if my children don't eat their food etc? I love greek food, but my husband can be fussy. I have been to crete many times and find the folk there Lovely. 2. Did you feel you were treated differently or less favourably if all inclusive? 3. can you take your own snacks, for children to the pool area/hotel ? 4. are you allowed to take drinks from the taverna to the beach? 5. has anyone taken a young child, and is it OK for them to use the play area whilst eating at night? 6. dreaded mosquitoes, it's it really bad, how did you cope? especially kids? 7. are the buses doable with a buggy? 8. how long, really, is the transfer coach from hersonissos? 9. does a rep pop by? (jet2) 10. not massive drinkers, but is the all inclusive really that bad? what is there for children to drink? so many questions I know, but the bad reviews are niggling at me and I guess I want some reassurance for a two week, expensive summer holiday! even if you can answer a few, thankyou ☺

Not really. There are some nice hill walks but in terms of other restaurants and bars there are only a couple (though it's a couple of years now since we were there). Very easy to get buses in either direction though to... More

I'm sure you'll have no problems. He is a very large character and fiercely proud of his restaurant. We were polite and respectful and had no problems with him. He had banter with my husband, no offense was meant or taken... More
