What a little rustic gem, old style charm, the rooms were basic but clean and comfortable. The staff were all superb so friendly and helpful and welcoming this was a huge plus. The beds were freshly made every day without fail and clean fresh linens and towels provided. The buffet breakfast was good with a variety of fresh fruits, yoghurts, cereals, salami, hans, cheese and hot buffet; bacon, sausages eggs! Rolls and sweet pastries so plenty to choose from. Fresh coffee and tea as well as a choice of juices…. For the price it was good value.

Very pleasant place. Sheep in the garden add a nice picturesque touch. Comfortable room, very good breakfast. Attentive staff, especially the receptionist Maria who, with extreme friendliness and kindness, guided us about the city and region.

Staff was very welcoming and accommodating upon arrival. While there is no lunch offer onsite, I was recommended a traditional Portuguese restaurant 3min away by foot.
The room was bright and clean - even if not the most modern, it was charming and had everything necessary.
Breakfast table was well-furnished with some Portuguese delicacy as well as continental ones.

The hotel needs urgent renovation. Infrastructure and decoration. We had ants all over the room. Broken table lamp. The mattress sags. Cracked bathroom and toilet tiles. Broken toilet paper holder, rusty shower head and similar items. Cleaning leaves a lot to be desired. There were things from previous guests in the room. The carpet in the hallways is stained with bleach… The pool area has a broken floor. Tennis courts in need of a new look. Lots to do indeed. The price is high so things are not in condition. In contrast, the staff was all friendly, the huge green space is very pleasant and the breakfast is varied and good. There is a lack of options for gluten intolerants and the pool should open in the spring, if it does not open, guests should be notified in advance. It's a shame they let such a beautiful hotel reach this state. We will not return as long as this remains the case.

We spent one night at the hotel but slept very poorly. We woke up at 6am to the street lights, the window had a backout but it didn't cover everything and let in all the light. The double bed was very narrow. The hallway to the rooms smelled like sewage.

Hotel has old charm and personnel is very friendly. The site is nice to walk around. Restaurant is good both breakfast and dinner. We had 3 rooms, all standard rooms, for 1 night. Avoid room #1 and #2 as these are smaller, have a lower ceiling and are darker than other rooms.

Excellent escapadinha, quiet and with plenty of space to relax and walk Great parking and good service.
Old palace, nostalgic where some renovation is already needed, mainly wc and common spaces.
Good value price/quality.

Beautiful spot needing maintenance.Breakfast is ok but staff isn't particularly nice and has no restaurant. We're given a lousy room with a broken chair and a view to the roof chimney....Really awful! The general impression is of ashamed pretentious decadence and the room doors slam like hell...As it is an ancient farm the whole area surrounding the ancient palace is beautiful but there is a general lack of imagination to take adavantage of that imense space. The tennis courts are abandoned as well and give a poor image of the place and the swimming pool is lovely but has not enough sunbeds. An anticlimax for a romantic escapade.
