Accommodation well off the beaten track gives best of both worlds away from tourist hotspots but close enough to Funchal and mochico. Advise having a car , bus service not very frequent but actually OK if this suits, great way to see this part of the island. Santo da Serra village is a bit neglected , if locals made a...

Madeira offers an abudance of accomodation of all levels and all types. Hence, it is sometimes not easy to chose. I decided for this hotel as I wanted to avoid big, impersonal hotels and prefer staying away from the city centres. As I usually hire a car for my holiday, it is much easier to park and keep close the...

The hotel is reasonable, its up in the hills so cooler than in town, the staff were helpful enough and the room was clean and well kept. These are the plus points. Now the bad, you wont sleep a wink here the noise from doors being banged all night with such force you'd think they are trying to put them...

With a family of five and a strong dislike of tower block hotels, the enotel Golf was an ideal base for us to explore the island of Madeira. Rooms are tidy and clean and the staff are all friendly and helpful, and very tolerant of small children. Amenities slightly let down the hotel. The indoor pool and Turkish bath are...

This was the perfect hotel for us. Hidden away in the mountains. We had a lovely spacious room with sunny balcony. The food was outstanding with plenty of choice. A nice indoor swimming pool with towels provided. Very small gym on the ground floor. A safe in the room €7 per week for the hire of the lock. Pretty grounds...

We stayed here for a week in May. Lovely ambience within the hotel. Staff very friendly and professional. Rooms very nice, except there are no tea making facilities in room. It would have been nice to have a hot drink before bed. The hotel is great value, breakfasts and evening meals had excellent choice. There are a few restaurants in...

We did not stay at this hotel, but through a series of unfortunate events presented at the front desk exhausted, a bit grubby, and looking for a place to sit and have a coffee or a drink while waiting for someone to arrive in Santo da Serra who was running late. Ines Sousa (read her name tag) was friendly, sympathetic,...
