Great location with a stunning views of the vineyard and the river in a beautiful XVIII century historical house. The architecture and decor are fabulous as well as the conservation status of all the elements that compose this spot. Entering the old building is like stepping back in time ... Excellent property to rest and discover the beautiful Douro region....

This is a beautiful old country house converted with a few bedrooms as a hotel. The views across the valley are very nice and the setting is very peaceful. We enjoyed our stay here and felt very relaxed. Our only niggles were that the bed was a little small, and that the pool was closed for refurbishment. But otherwise great...

Many places promise tranquility, a bygone experience, the elegance of the past. Casa das Torres de Oliveira delivers. Each room is furnished with from the family. The walls were so thick, that a family celebration did not intrude on our evening. The staff was welcoming and efficient. The breakfast was typical of Portugal with its bread, cheese, ham and preserves....

When we approached this place the sun was shining and this place look magnificent with its hill side perch. The setting was spectacular. We were kindly greeted by the manager and the actual Duchess and we were then showed to our tower room which had a great view of the country side and pool. The hotel was very clean and...

We only stayed one night, but wished we had stayed longer. It is essentially a rather grand B & B so don't expect hotel- like services. What made it was the view, the wonderful wine, the feeling that you were staying in someone else's home, the quiet, the delightful pool and the grand rooms. We speak no Portuguese but with...

This house was situated high above the Douro Valley next to the pretty little hill town of Oliveira. The directions on the website were wrong (you take Exit 18 not Exit 17 coming from Porto), but we managed to find the house after a not-so-brief delay wandering around looking for people who could give us directions (advisory - have a...

Beautiful place, great views, beautiful house and you do feel in the middle of nowhere because they only have 4 rooms for rent. Really nice pool with great view. However, the owner is an older lady who treats everyone like a granny, even adult people and believe me, it can be irritating. Especially that she does not really do any...

We have stayed in several Portuguese manor houses, and this is certainly an impressive looking property. Perched on a hill above the Douro River (though without a direct view of the river), in the middle of beautiful vineyards, you feel as though you should be arriving by horse. The rooms are comfortable, with modern, elegant bathrooms. The common areas bear...
