We are just packing up to leave this hotel and it’s has been an amazing stay for our family. The location is great, the rooms are perfect for a family and even though it’s an all inclusive, there is something for everyone. I feel what stands out beyond anything else at this hotel is the staff that work hard every moment of the day. From the catering staff, waitresses/waiters and the FANTASTIC bar staff yiannis and Airne. Nothing is too much trouble and they were all brilliant with my little son. I really hope they get the praise that they all deserve. Thank you to all the staff xxx

After reading the review before going on holiday i was going to cancel but then took a chance. Im glad we did the resort was brilliant, staff were friendly and couldn't do enough for you. Yes the place could do with a little TLC in places but its Greece things get done in their own time. Food was repetitive but it was only a small resort, there was always something nice to eat a various restaurants around if you wanted a change. Would defiantly book again

Just need to write this as we were going to cancel due to bad reviews. Had the most brilliant 2 week holiday at this hotel. A few tweeks needed but what was there was amazing and the staff outstanding. If only people would just ask instead of moaning. I can truly say this hotel was amazing. Could do with a little something to do daytime but I would still rate a 4 star. Xx

I am going to pull on what we liked and disliked as a family Rooms: we had a two bedroom and the bedrooms were immaculate! The cleaner we had was just lush ( my favourite staff member there). However the bathroom was dreadful to the point I didn’t feel clean after using it. Even the toilets by the playground had round toilet seats on square toilets - it doesn’t take much to upgrade basic things. Swimming pool: absolutely fantastic and clean! There was always lots of sunbeds and it was nice to have the choice of the pool or sea on your doorstep. Food and drink: we aren’t huge drinkers so the drinks were fine. We ate our quite a lot as the food wasn’t really for us but that’s because we are picky eaters! For the less picky eaters there is a good variety however I have been in 4 star hotels around the world and the food was a lot better. Entertainment: could not comment on it as we went out every night to explore! If I’m honest the biggest issue we had was the lack of organisation - our room wasn’t ready on time and the children were exhausted after their flight. The dining rooms like eating with a bunch of scavengers - it’s like people thought the food was going to run out. My children got pushed around a lot and that’s down to rude fellow guests there. I would say they need more room in their dining area. If I can pull on some stuff you should do and go to it would be Lucky Luke’s horse riding Relax bar in Alykes Mill bar This is our first time on this island and it won’t be our last! However there is that many pools and places to go you do not need to go all inclusive it’s such a waste of money. Get yourself an air b n b and explore. The hotel was far too much for what it was but if you’re a family who likes to stay in one place then I would say stay there. Again staff were lovely but the hotel needs to up its game if it’s classed as a 4 star

Firstly, I hope this is balanced and fair reflection of our experience at the Alykanas Beach Resort. We had read many reviews of this resort before we arrived and we were well aware of what to expect. We absolutely loved Alykanas/Alykes, it is a beautiful area with stunning beaches, lovely sea and a good balance of restaurants and bars and not too quiet for us, but not too lively either. The hotel for us, was just OK to be honest and not much more. The saving grace with the Beach Grand, is without doubt its location literally right on the beach and probably in the prime spot of the whole resort. The water is fairly shallow for a good way out so is ideal for little kids. The rooms themselves are great, spacious well decorated and kept very clean, the cleanliness extends to the whole resort. The staff work very hard to keep the place clean at all times. The bathrooms though, let the place down massively. They are dated and in dire need of updating. The shower floods everywhere and we found rust fixtures hanging off the walls. This is big shame and needs addressing! The pool area is great and there are plenty of Sun beds everywhere, we didnt once have to rush to get up early to grab one, which in peak season is a big bonus. Though we did notice a lot of non residents wondering up from the beach and using the Sunbeds to which there are notices saying they are not allowed. There is a childs play area, but to be honest this is a bit of joke, the area looks dangerous and there is not much there. Again, there is little entertaining for the child. No activities daytime or evening for them or kids club. If you have kids you may wish to consider this, however, if they just happy with the pool and beach all day you will fine! I cannot comment on the Evening Entertainment as we went out and about the resort every night, this is mainly due to the standard of the drinks. However, I did note there were acts on every other day which is shame. but there is so much on else where in alykanas and alykes, this didnt bother us. The AI element is what I think really lets this hotel down. I have heard this used to be a Self Catering resort until a year ago and perhaps this what it should have stayed. The Hotel clearly doesnt have the capacity to operate AI but does try its best and it was just OK. The dining area doubles up as the bar and at times was chocker, but this is not different to many other AI's we have been too before. The food was typical AI, we have found at most other resorts. but given the obvious struggle for capacity in terms of the size of the kitchen and serving area, become more repetitive than I seen before and by day 6 of 10 we were eating out most lunches and dinners. There were also some real issues with temperature of the food, which I can only describe as luke warm and poorly labelled. If you have a dairy intolerance you are going to struggle here! The drinks were of a poor AI standard, but most AI's serving local brands are like this. However, here in particular they seemed to be even weaker and the beer on tap was like water. This only encouraged us to go out in the evening more in search of a decent Cocktail! Overall, love the resort and would most certainly come back, but probably Self Catering elsewhere. Did we have a bad experience, most certainly not. The hotel is OK. If they sorted out the bathrooms, the Childs entertainment and the AI experience they would be on a winner.

We have just returned from a 10 night stay here, and what a lovely place it is. We would definitely return to this hotel and we loved Zante. The hotel’s location couldn’t be better. From your sunlounger by the pool you can walk 10 metres one way to the bar/food and snacks or 10 meters the other to the sea. The sea in August is so warm and clear. You can walk 10 minutes to the harbour and if you are lucky see the turtles. Best to go about 10am. We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment which had plenty of room for 2 adults and one child. Rooms were cleaned daily and towels changed every 2 days. Aircon worked well and we had Wi-Fi in our room until the last 2 days when it stopped working but it was available in communal areas on these 2 days. Anytime we needed anything, the staff on reception were very helpful. Bathrooms need updating but you could always get a warm shower with adequate pressure. We stayed in room 217, which is top floor and has a sea view. If you want a top floor 2 bed apartment with a sea view request 217, 218 or 219. Generally soundproofing was not too bad. You could faintly hear the music from the hotel entertainment which finished at 11pm (not on every night) but once the doors were shut and A/C on, this wasn’t too much of a problem. One evening there was loud music from the nearby Dilemma bar until midnight but this only happened once. The pool area is great. Plenty of loungers available. We could still get loungers facing the pool at 9am and there are loungers available all day on the grassy area. They did play music most the time from the bar, which wouldn’t have been our preference but it was bearable and the volume of the music depended on who was working at the bar. The food was good and typical of all inclusive (AI). There is plenty of choice and generally we enjoyed it. The bread was dry but everything else was good. Unlike other AI hotels we’ve been to there weren’t different themes each night so we did get a bit bored at times and treated ourselves to a few meals out. We found no problem with the drinks and sampled the soft drinks, wine and beer. Others have mentioned that the drinks aren’t strong but this was not a problem for us as we weren’t drinking to get drunk. I was pleased to see the hotel has taken on feedback from others and provided recycling bins during our stay, for the many plastic cups that were used. From the hotel you can walk 10 minutes along the canal to Alykes or into Alykanas. Both have a good selection of restaurants, a few bars/sports bars and shops. The area feels safe and family friendly Dilemma bar (right next to the hotel) has a play area, trampoline, mini golf, pool, table football and table tennis. You can also use the facilities at Alykanas Village hotel (next door hotel) which has a choice of 4 pools and a few water slides for €5 per person. During our stay we hired a car for a day and explored the north of the island. We also completed a 3 hour boat trip to Turtle Island and Keri cave, which we thoroughly enjoyed. We had a fantastic holiday to this hotel and would thoroughly recommend it . The main area for improvement would be the variety of food but other than that I can’t complain.

Inadequate Food Quality: The food was consistently served cold, which significantly detracted from the overall dining experience. This lack of attention to maintaining the appropriate temperature not only affected the taste and presentation of the food but also raised concerns regarding food safety standards. Poor Room Maintenance: Upon entering my assigned room, I immediately noticed the rusty and deteriorating condition of the door handle. This gave a first impression of negligence and lack of attention to the upkeep of the hotel. Furthermore, the presence of mold in various areas of the room was deeply disconcerting and demonstrated a significant disregard for the health and well-being of the guests. Deficient Amenities: I was disappointed to find that the television in my room did not function properly. Given the expectations associated with a four-star hotel, this level of deficiency is entirely unacceptable. I bought this to the attention of the hotel staff several times and nothing was done to resolve the situation. Inappropriate staff and poor customer service: Throughout my stay, I observed a general lack of professionalism among several members of your staff. Instances of inappropriate sexualised language used towards female members of our group, contributing to an unwelcoming and hostile atmosphere. Given the issues, I find it necessary to express my disbelief that the Alykanas Beach Hotel is indeed a four-star establishment, as claimed. The lack of attention to critical details, subpar maintenance, and a generally disappointing overall experience.

Was going to give this hotel 5 stars... But then had to take 1 star away because there is no lift so after a longish journey with small kids you are greeted with no lift and no help to lug all the suitcases up to your floor! 1 star away for the shower, you don't understand the luxury of water pressure until you have a shower here like washing under a dripping tap but unbeknown to anyone how the bathroom floor manages to flood so bad that you end up having to swim your way out of the bathroom! Had to take another star away because of the catering, on their website they say they cater for all. If you don't drink dairy for any reason this is not the place for you! Rude kitchen staff when approached kindly to ask for alternatives. All inclusive but then you only get one bottle of water in your room no matter how long the stay and you can't fill water bottles up from the canteen ( wouldn't call it a restaurant). Again on their website they pride themselves with how they care of the environment and all that ready made up script but they get through so many plastic cups a day it's outrageous. They do have recycling bins but then the maintenance guy was putting them all in the same bag, just a façade I guess. Another star because the kids pool that shouldn't be described as a kids pool, water was so dirty l looked like they filled it up at the beginning of the season and just forgot about it. Another because it says they have a kids play area but they actually don't, that wanna be slide and two rotten swings is treacherous nails poking out everywhere, broken slide the whole thing move when the kids go on the swing. The last star because the whirlpool is still closed, read reviews of it being shut last year, plus all broken tiles around the pool are so dangerous especially for little people. All in all the place is looking tired and could do with some tlc. I left one star because the views are magnificent and the reception staff were outstanding and it was lovely to go back a beautifully cleaned room every day but would I go back? I would definitely go back to Zante but not to this hotel.

We stayed here as a group of 9, 5 adults and 4 children and we had a great stay. I’m not usually one to leave a review but given the negative reviews that made me really nervous before arrival I wanted to share our experience. We arrived late on our first night and had a friendly greeting and a quick check in, room was clean on arrival and spacious and there was a lovely cold bottle of water waiting for us in the fridge. Rooms as many have said the bathroom is In need of a cosmetic update but it’s fully functional, odd shower that’s a small cubicle with no door so the floor gets a little wet but not the floodgate we were expecting. The room itself is a good size we are a family of 4 and we had more space than some hotels we have stayed In. These sorts of rooms always lack in storage but we didn’t struggle for the 2 weeks. Very clean rooms, and a good system you can press to show if you want a clean or not. We had a random ant issue one night in our second week and this was sorted out really quickly with no fuss. We were in a ground floor room 307 and no noise issues but we didn’t go to bed until gone 11pm. Food The food was ok, I think in an all inclusive you know what your getting, it was always tasty and a good variety especially salads. The main thing that could be improved is the breakfast we often found the bacon had been sitting so wasn’t always very warm. The pancakes were a hit with the kids. The restaurant is small and defintely busier the second week but there’s a lovely air conditioned dining area opposite which we never struggled to get a table, and for an evening loads of lovely outside tables some overlooking the beach. We did choose to eat out a lot but that’s because the village of Alykanas and Alykes have so much to offer. Facilities The hotel location is the best, on the beach which is just gorgeous, crystal clear water which is shallow and a nice pool. Never had to get up early for sun loungers either. We will 100% return although I wish there was just a self catering option as the location and restaurants around are just too good to not try them all. All staff are friendly and can’t do enough for you.

Second time here, & loved every minute. We had a superior twin with side sea view, which was the most stunning view over the pool looking out to the sea Rooms cleaned to a high Standard every day & beds comfortable. Food excellent at each meal, I'm celiac and some things were labelled up as gf, which made things so much easier. All the staff here work so hard & are very friendly. Alykanas /Alykes really are stunning resorts, & are perfect for children if you have them, pool to sea in a few seconds. Cannot find a single negative at this hotel Highly recommended.
