There six generations of the Collins Family. Have worked tireless to capture and create an authentic icon ie. Lava tubes a wonderous phenomenon caused by volcanic seepage. Everyone should experience the hospitality and true australian Outback on their level. Big Thanks.

We camped for a couple of nights on the powered sites. We spent the 2 days relaxing as well as visiting the caves on a guided tour and also walking up the volcano. Good views from the volcano and the caves are worth visiting. Not much happening at night, which was disappointing, but they did apologise as they had someone...

Really enjoyed the whole experience at Undara, the staff were very professional and helpful we did the 3 day/ 2 night experience and loved the novelty of staying in a 120 yr old restored railway 🚃 carriage! Take something to read or a movie on your device as there's no TV and phone reception is poor, I could only get...

Had a package with an overnight stay in the railway carriage. The carriage was an expirience - a living "coupe"', a sleeping coupe and a bathroom. But the best part was the tours included. In the eveing we where taken to a plateau to watch the sun going down while havung a glass of wine and some cheese. Our guide...

An awesome place to relax and see one of Australia's hidden gems... plus the old rail cars turned into accommodation are very unique The staff are friendly and well informed about the history and the science of the area and tour guides Denis and Wes know their stuff... I would recommend this place time and time again...

We went only for a day-visit but it would be nice to stay even over night. We arrived early morning but had to wait for a place in a later tour. If you prefer fixed times pre-booking is essential. The 2-hours tour into the tubes and to a historical side was very interesting and informativ. The remaining time we spend...

We did the archway explorer tour and were impressed with the lava tubes. The tour is informative and being the wet season was no over crowded with too many people. There are plenty of walking trails to extend your time spent here. While we did not stay the setting was nice and it appeared to have good facilities. It isn't...

Camping in the Outback is an experience I would recommend. This was the first time for me and can’t think of a better place to do it. The owners have managed to combine rustic with modern, and for me it worked. So, whilst we roughed it in a van, I could still have a shave and shower in a room...

What an amazing time here at the experience and the Lava tubes. Kane, Mona and Troy were excellent hosts and tour guides. Everyone should experience this once in their lives. We were lucky enough to experience a large storm with the first big rains. The walk around the crater was an experience with fabulous informative plaques every few metres. The...

UNDARA EXPERIENCE – AUSTRALIA’S ACCESSIBLE OUTBACK! Only 3½ hours drive from Cairns and four hours from Townsville in Tropical North Queensland Australia, Undara can be easily accessed via the Savannah Way by conventional vehicle and is situated right on the edge of the Undara Volcanic National Park. The Undara Lava Tubes are a world class natural geological phenomenon. Huge tubes formed approximately 190,000 years ago; molten lava drained out under a thick cooler crust, leaving a series of long, hollow tubes. Today, Undara’s highly trained Savannah Guides conduct small group tours from the natural Bush Resort, into the lava tubes where visitors marvel at this incredible geological wonder.
