Stayed 1 night. Room was comfortable - very clean - staff were very good and helpful and welcoming. Breakfast was very good with a good selection of everything required. The grounds of the hotel must be especially beautiful in the summer and would make an ideal wedding venue. Also seems to cater for dogs very well. Would stay here again...

Dear lynpercival Thank you for your positive review & all your comments which are most welcome. I was delighted you enjoyed your stay. We certainly do host a number of weddings throughout the year, including ceremonies in our lovely gazebo when the grounds look fabulous in the summer. We look forward to welcoming you back again soon Sincerely, Dominic

Dear cliff Thank you for your review & all your comments which have been carefully noted. I am pleased you enjoyed the breakfast & lunch. The Brasserie is popular of an evening & we have a sizable, separate lounge area too. We aim to keep the public areas & bedrooms cozy, especially during any cold snap. All TVs have been...

Had an overnight stay at the weekend with friends. It's a lovely hotel that needs refurbishment, decor and carpets especially. That said, the staff are very friendly and great at their jobs. A special mention to the bar and restaurant staff, especially a lady in the evening, think her name is Marie, fab service from her. The food was very...

A burns night bash, staff helpful as usual. A good night had by all. The meal for 200 was good and piping hot, like the haggis. Only slight moan were the bedrooms were very hot even with the radiator on the lowest setting, but then it was the coldest night of the year, so far.

My review is with great regret as my previous stay at the Great Danes in the summer of 2016 was pleasant and enjoyable, the rooms were comfortable and well equipped for a weekend away and the restaurant offered lovely food. Fast forward to December 2016 and I had booked the Christmas dinner for the family of 6 adults and 4...

Myself and 3 friends had an overnight stay using the spa facilities. Booked with lastminute.com. Breakfast and evening meal included ... £49. Fantastic all round. Lovely food. Good clean room. Spa adequate.... Just glad it was quiet or could of been a bit of a squeeze. All in all we had a great time. Thank you

Tried fobbing off the horrible view on us at first. Second room was smaller and the view was also dire. Had to have towels replaced and so on. Tidiness was not great. If you have a pet you're more than welcome there as they seem to care a lot about animals.

All in all I would say that the room is good value for money. The bed is comfy, good sized tv with a few good channels and the room is pretty clean. The food on the other hand is overpriced and disappointing to say the least. My boyfriend ordered the chefs special and I ordered the prawn linguine. The steak...

I just got over here from driving from Paris. I try to stay in the mercury hotels as much as I can. And I am a Le club Accor card so it's good for me to stay at this group of hotels. When I walk-in I was not impressed with the hotel that was before I got to the desk...
