I booked The Boar's Head for a quick overnight stay as I had to go up to Yorkshire to see an ailing relative. We arrived late in the evening but were greeted by a friendly receptionist who showed us to our room. The room was well equipped with everything we needed, including complimentary tea/coffee, bottled water, an iron and ironing...

As a well travelled pup, I always look forward to staying at the Boars Head I have never been disappointed and our latest stay was no exception. My humans opted for the Christmas package arriving for three nights on 24 December 2016. The checking in process was easy and quick thanks to the amazing Anna and our room (Thornton) in...

So I was looking round places to book for my sister and mum with the dogs for Christmas that wasn't too far away from Lincolnshire as it was only for a weekend but obviously dog friendly, I booked in December after being recommended by a friend at work and how impressed we were!!!! Very clear directions and found it straight...

N.B. I'm reviewing the restaurant only. Met some friends here as it was equidistant for us to travel to and Ripley is a nice place to walk around. We had met here before a few years ago and it had been OK. This time it wasn't even that. They were clearly under-staffed during a holiday period and it took nearly...

I called late morning to book a lunch table for a friend and I. The phone was answered very promptly, professionally and warmly. We ate at 1.30pm. My friend had the veggie option and I had the salmon. I don't eat meat and it was no problem at all to have different veg (the original ones had some bacon in...

Decided to have a quick Sunday lunch and what a bitter disappointment. Poorly cooked vegetables, only two halves of one roast potato. The pork loin was sliced so thinly it looked like pale bacon. We ordered dessert waited 20 minutes to discover the chef hadn't even started to make them, allegedly. Not good value for money at all taking advantage...

I was so sorry to read your comments and really not the usual comments we receive from our very popular Sunday lunches. We can't apologise enough for your experience and Chef has been informed, this should not and will not happen again.

A couple of weeks ago we stayed here and I commented that although the hotel , breakfast and rooms etc were amazing, our bathroom was a bit chilly and could do with a revamp. 2 weeks later we visited and stayed in the same room and amazingly the whole bathroom had been ripped out and renovated with a huge double...

Booked for one nights stay as a small break. Couldn't have asked for more. Lovely setting and building. Staff friendly and helpful. Booked a small double room but found it more than adequate. Food was great, tasty and plentiful. Would definitely return.

My husband and I booked an overnight stay with our parents a couple of weeks ago and we had a great visit. I rang ahead and asked for a room with disabled access and we were allocated lovely rooms in the courtyard area which has level access to the bar and hotel, the lady we spoke to was lovely. The...
