We based ourselves at Palazzo Malaspina so that we could easily visit the neighbouring hilltop towns and castles and the position is perfect. When we arrived the tiny, cobbled streets of the medieval town were full of locals dressed in Medieval outfits with drums, singing and dancing to celebrate the towns origins. It was a fabulous, surprise welcome and we...

We stayed for 2 nights at the Palazzo and enjoyed a very large beautiful room, number 5. It had the the luxury of a hotel, and yet the personal touch of a b & b. Mary and Maria were very helpful in providing information about the area and maps, and dinner recommendations. We enjoyed the breakfast, and Mary made us...

Much like previous reviewers, I can't recommend this place highly enough. The village and the Palazzo are both very attractive places to stay and in a great location for visiting towns such as Siena, Pienza, San Gimignano or Florence. Rooms are clean and tastefully styled. Traditional and in keeping with the building but full of modern conveniences such as the...

Sometimes reviews and photos do not match the experience, but the Palazzo Malaspina Met and surpassed all that we hoped for on this important anniversary trip! Our room, # 3, was spacious, beautiful, and comfortable. Windows opened to the countryside sunsets and the bathroom was gorgeous. A wonderful, really made for two jacuzzi, great shower and pretty marble floors. Maria...

We spent 1 night in early June at the Palazzo Malaspina. The location is very quiet in a nice village. Very friendly people welcoming us and very good breakfast the next morning! The room was comfortable, just maybe with minor upgrades to be made to fit with current lifestyle standards.

My husband and I stayed in Palazzo Malaspina for 6 nights. And I have never written in tripadvisor as I thought Palazzo Malaspina is worth my time. Surrounded with beautiful landscape, tranquil vicinity with friendly locals and few nice restaurants around. As many reviews rightfully mentioned, the location is halfway between Florence, Siena, San Gimignano and Luca. In our opinion,...

We arrived with a beautiful room with the most amazing view! Mary brought us Cappuccinos, home-made cookies, and a bottle wine. The bed was extremely comfortable. We felt like a king and queen. In fact, in the morning we wanted to see if they had room available for another night but they were booked. We loved the area and wished...

My husband and I recently stayed at Palazzo Malaspina. It is a beautiful B & B in the idyllic village of San Donato. The room we stayed in was very comfortable. We had doors that opened onto a terrace with a view of the countryside. Maria and Mary were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious. It is a...

We spent three nights at Palazzo Malaspina. It was a beautiful B&B. Our room had an incredible view out over Tuscany. It is in a great location, halfway between Florence and Siena (both of which we enjoyed, as well as a side trip to San Gimignano--as per the recommendation of Mary). The bed was comfortable, the room spacious, and the...
