The location of the place really amazing!! In the historical center of Casperia with an magnificent view from the terrace over the village and also the beautiful surroundings with the mountains in the back. Staff very friendly and helpful! The breakfast which we had on the terrace was also lovely
Casperia, in the Sabine Hills an hour north of Rome, is a beautiful and unspoiled hill town in a region that fully deserves to be discovered. La Torretta, in the heart of the old part of town, is a jewel - a bed & breakfast in a beautiful historical home completely redone by the architect owner so that it is both evocative and comfortable. The living room has a fireplace, and the large dining area has sweeping views over the valley behind Casperia and over to the higher hills. Jennifer and Maureen who run the B&B are wonderful, kind and generous hosts. The breakfasts are abundant and the whole place has an exceptional charm and sense of history. This was our third stay, but we will be back.
La Torretta is an amazing place in the old city of Casperia. The rooms are beautifully renovated, as is the whole house. And has a terras that looks out of over the valley. Jennifer is a wonderful host & the breakfast is abundant.
This is our third time at La Torretta - hosts Jennifer and Maureen welcomed us with open arms to their charming home. We stayed in the Suite which is well worth the small extra cost - it includes a private reading room with superb view and a wonderful en-suite bathroom. Days were spent exploring Casperia and the Sabine region with friends. La Torretta is so cozy with many books on architecture, unique furniture design and a lovely terrace overlooking the surrounding hills. Highly recommended to stay at least three nights to take it all in.
I have stayed at La Torretta many times and recommend it to my friends. They have done cooking classes for my students and recommended and arranged many activities for my workshops. They could not be more helpful on so many levels. The town is small but has lots of nooks and crannies to explore. I brought 4 groups of photographers there over the years as well as painters. There is certainly a lot of material to work with. You will love it!
We loved our stay. Absolutely gorgeous ancient house. We were beautifully looked after. Would highly recommend to anyone. Caspian area is a stunning hilltop village. Well worth driving out of your way.
We returned to La Torretta B & B after an 18 year absence and had a marvelous time. It was such respite after a very busy few days in Florence. This is a former home that is several hundred years old, with all that might imply. The family that runs this is wonderful and we consider them friends. Be prepared to walk up many hills - no autos in the town and lots of walking, but that's part of the charm. Learn the local customs and places and they will treat you well.
This 15th century house has been beautifully restored and made for a very nice place to spend the night in Casperia. We were sorry we were there for only one night. The owners were friendly and helpful and the breakfast buffet (served in a lovely room) had several good choices.
We arrived for our second visit to La Torretta to the warm and friendly greetings of Jennifer who had prepared two lovely, comfortable, clean and charming rooms for us and our friend. We then had a beer up on the beautiful terrace overlooking the valley below Casperia. One of the most wonderful things about Casperia and La Torretta in particular is the community - the residents are all close and everyone helps each other out. Our friend became ill during dinner (exhaustion, not the food!) and immediately Jennifer and her father came down the hill to help out, and assisted in such a kind way with others in the village in making our friend feel well again. Finally, there is a great restaurant Osteria Vigna just down the hill with wonderful sunsets, and the home is full of heritage character. While you may get some exercise carrying luggage up the steps of the village, it is greatly worth it. Highly recommended.…
Visited the beautiful village of Casperia and stayed at La Torretta B&B. The room was great and had the best beds we have slept in in Italy. Breakfast was very nice with a lot to choose from. Our hosts was very friendly and helpful. We absolutely stay here again if ever in the area. Warmly recommended!
