Conceptually hotel has great value and abilities to give traveler that many hotels on island don’t have. Private pool, kitchen and separation from others. Close approximation to couple beaches, It would be mind blowing if units would be maintain and had updates to have higher level of furnishings. We had unit that they use as photo model but those photos were done 20 year ago. It need modifications and some renovation

Being in Real Estate I can agree with others here that the place needs updating. We stayed in larger international unit which is a must. We got a key to the Caribbean pavilion on the last day to take a look and I would have hated the trip if I had to stay in one of those units. Even though the International needed updating it was very comfortable and I did like the larger pool and deck area off the back. The concept is great to have your own private pool in paradise. The walk to the beach was as describe on the web site and it just took a couple minutes. We were able to use the lounge chairs on the beach with no hassels from the condos that are on the beach. Sapphire beach is great, although we hit a different beach everyday. A helpful hint if you need a taxi to Red Hook there is a local open air taxi service that goes around the island just one way - the way to Red Hook. You just wave them down and when you get close to Red Hook there is a doorbell button that you push and they will stop. Cost $1.00 each. We rented a car but Red Hook is way to crowded to park at at the present time. Coming back from Red Hook you will have to get a taxi - because again the $1.00 taxi only goes one way. Cost $4.00 each.
Try eating with Karl the cook at the hotel one night. He is a trip - very nice and a great cook. His wife is the bartender! Gotta love it.
Need a drink during the day when there is no bartender? Go behind the bar and pour yourself one because they have the honor system there. Again gotta love it!
All and All a great time with a great staff but I would stay in the International pavilion without a doubt! Spend the extra $25.00 a night you will be glad you did.

Pavillions & Pools was a terrific site for 6 couples attending a Wedding in St. Thomas in April, 2006. It couldn't have worked out better for our wedding guests. New manager George Marovich brings energy and enthusiasm to P&P. We loved the private pool. The morning continental breakfast was a great start to the day---not just cereal & toast& coffee --- but fresh fruit, english muffins, donuts, and real milk & 1/2 n 1/2 for the coffee . The location is ideal, only a minute or two from the bars and restaurants at Red Hook, and the ferry to St. John; in the other direction, less than 5 to 10 minutes away are the other hotels that other guests stayed at. Clearly, some P&P units have been upgraded and are "better than others" ---ask for an upgraded or renovated unit. Having actual stairs (rather than a ladder) into the pool is also a plus. The "garden showers" were enjoyable to us. While air conditioning worked great, our bed could have been a litle less "firm". The "5 minute walk" to Sapphire Beach is not a significant feature. All in all a great time was had by all, and we would certainly return to Pavillions & Pools next time (we would also love to return to the fine dining at Roberts American Grille and Romano's - but thats another review!) An excellent value for the $$.

I can only comment on the unit we stayed in. We booked this through VRBO which leads me to believe they weed out all negative reviews. Pictures on website were obviously outdated and so was the place. Mini split odor made us sick. We only stayed 3 nights and that was 3 nights too long!

The pictures you see online are not what you get. I was horrified when I went entered the property. Paint was peeling, dirt was heaped in the corners, and although the owner said there was air conditioning in the living room and bedroom, I sure didn't see them. I also requested ocean front property, but we never aw the ocean there. We stayed just long enough to make accommodations at another hotel. The owner said this was a 3-star accommodation. NO WAY! It's no wonder she required full payment 2 weeks ahead of time. She refused to refund any money at all even though we didn't stay there. I trusted VRBO before to screen their accommodations, but never again!

The preview of the suite on the web-site for Pavilions and Pools was nothing like our suite! The room was almost clean! The suite was in dire need of a lot of repairs! Both, the pool and the shower need to be retiled! All The furniture was very old and needs to be replaced! The resturant well I really don't think it can be called a resturant! The bar is a self service and on the honor system. The air conditioner is a old wall unit and in poor shade! It hardly cooled off the suite The TV didn't work, at all!! The suite next to ours had a rat running around at night! Our suite had a large family of roaches living there! So we never unpacked our luggage! The bathroom is very hot and humid, because of the open air shower! Our choice to pick p&p was a very big mistakes!! Because it was the last few days of Carnival, we could not find a available room! We did make sure, to find many, many things to do to fill every minutes! In order that we didn't have spend much time, in that ugly suite!! The sunset sail was very nice, as was the basket of fruit, no cheese! The champagne was very cheap, so we didn't bother to pop the cork! The walk to the beach wasn't fun!! The fish pond and the rest of the grounds are also in dire need of alot of tender love and care!! The place could be beautiful, all they need to do is spend alot of $$$$ on all the repairs

My fiance and I were looking for a place to kick back and relax. And after a harrowing day travelling to St. Thomas, we were not disappointed when we arrived. The security guard was waiting for us when we arrived and helped us with our bags. He even got us a couple of sodas to tie us over until we went to the store the next morning. Everyone on the staff was extremely friendly and honest. The free breakfast was limited but who cares...it was free! It filled me up each morning. Plus, they provide you with free snorkel gear and beach towels, which was incredibly handy!

The one thing that drew us to P&P was the privacy. Our villa was totally isolated from the other villas, so you can do plently of skinny dipping in your private pool and/or nude sun bathing. We stayed in one of the smaller Carribean Villas. The size was great. However, the villa was close to the main road so you could hear all of the traffic going by. I would definitely pay the extra money for the International Villa (sold out when we went) to get away from the road. You also get a BBQ in the bigger villa.

Our villa was just cozy and clean. Some of the things were slightly worn and dated. The bed was a bit uncomfortable. But we were so tired at the end of each day, we did not care. Kitchenette was great, with all new appliances. Open air shower (no tub though:-() was fantastic...perfect for two. Not the most lavishly decorated or furnished place but to me it was worth it to get the privacy that we wanted. Your villa is cleaned every other day (but you can request them to come whenever you need them) and someone tends to the pool twice a week. Very pleased with the service.

P&P is a bit of a drive from the airport but you are away from the cruise ships (yes, that is a big deal!!), and very close to the ferry in St. John (go to Trunk Bay!!!) in Red Hook. Red Hook has lots of restaurants and bars (Love Shack was FUN!!) and shops. We rented a car and explored the island, which i highly recommend. The locals were happy to hear that we were not on a cruise ship and actually staying on the island. P&P is definitely for couples only. This place beat any hotel resort there any day of the week. I would definitely go back!!

The room would have been perfect. We were looking for privacy, which it offered, with our personal pool. The maid service is every other day...sort of but the front desk people were always eager to help and offer extra towels, linens, even scuba gear. The one great probelwm, however, were BEDBUGS, discovered half way through our stay.

We spent one week at P&P. We weren't sure what to expect from the reviews. We had a relaxing time. Everyone was very nice. However, the rooms are in great need of updating and cleaning. The grout in the tile was dirty. I didn't want to walk on the floor with clean feet. The pool was great. NO one can see you. Loved the privacy. Your room wasn't cleaned daily unless you requested it. That was actually nice. No one was walking in on you or knocking on the door. The location is good and cabs are always driving by. We only called for a cab one time. If you are a huge resort person this is not the place for you. We liked the International side the best. We checked out several rooms. I would try to go during their off season. $200 a night is a good price. $300 is a little pricey for what you get. I was told the Westin on St. John offers Villas with private pools too. Might be worth checking out!

My sister and I went to St.thomas for 6 days and i must say our villa was great.
The outside patio is gorgeous and having the pool right outside with complete privacy was a huge added bonus.
Staff was very nice and friendly; they were very helpful in terms of where to go, what to see, how to go ....
The complementary breakfast was very nice and had good choices for a quick breakfast !
Our location was fantastic, a short walk to lindquist beach which by far was the best beach on the island.
Red hook was a few minute taxi ride and costs a dollar when using the Safari taxi.
Everything was perfect we had a really beautiful visit !
