Like other reviewers, I found this wonderful place was an unexpected gem, the rooms were spacious and characterful (stone built farm dating from 1605), the location was perfect (very difficult to tear ourselves away for day trips when sitting round the pool reading books looking over beautiful countryside was so relaxing). Anna who looked after everyone was so welcoming and provided so much great sustenance I was spoilt for the rest of the holiday! A great place for peace and quiet surrounded by the olive groves (take some oil home!), but also very close to some amazing Umbrian cities easily reached by car.

We were two Danish families (5 kids total, ages 1-12), and stayed for almost two weeks. The location is gorgeous and peaceful. It’s remote in the Umbrian hills. The setting is perfect for families, with a great pool, beautiful olive trees, and rugged nature. The hosts are wonderfully hospitable. They catered so nicely with our kids! The food was authentic local Italian cuisine, cooked with love and passion. We will certainly return again.

First of all let's deal with the things you may not like, miles from anywhere,( only 20 minutes from Todi), long track down to farm, virtually no buildings in site, very large portions of food, be prepared to ask Anna for small portions if you want to finish all courses. There again those are the reasons we go. That is as well as the whole accommodation being perfect, your host Anna could not be nicer she will do anything for you, nothing is too much trouble. Such a lovely friendly person that creates a perfect atmosphere of total relaxation. If you want to sit in the shade and read etc you can, swim walk sunbath all are there for you, you really could not ask for anything more. We have stayed twice both times in different fantastic suites. I would choose the upstairs one but little difference and looking into the standard rooms these appear just as good. A simple recommendation is we will be back.

I was coming to the region to attend a wedding. I had no idea what to expect. I found this little place about 6 kms from the wedding. What a magical place. The views are stunning, the beds are very comfortable and the bathrooms are huge. The proprietors are wonderful and obliging. I believe their family has been working this land making olive oil for centuries. The buildings date from 1605. I had no idea there are still pockets of Italy like this... Not over-run with tourists, authentic, charming and peaceful. If you are traveling to the Orvieto region, it is worth exploring the countryside and staying here! 5 stars at a 3 star price!

If you need a quiet and relaxing place Podere is the place to go. You can also visit charming Umbrien towns from Podere: Todi, Perugia, Orvieto just to name some of them. Ask Ana to prepare a dinner with specialities from Sicily (where she is coming from) and you will love it. Don't forget to buy olive oil which was the winner of a New York Olive Oil Competition. We came a guests and left as friends!
