Lovely property at a spectacular spot! Take a kayak and enjoy the laguna or book the boat tour the hotel as on offer. We also would recommend a visit to the cenote azul but you would have to take a cab. Rooms come in various sizes. They are all quite private and set in a wonderful garden. The swimming pool... More

This is a superb hotel, very well run and in an amazing location right on the Bacalar Lagoon. The thatched bungalow rooms are very large and comfortable set amongst lush vegetation and have every convenience for guests. The restaurant was very good indeed and surprisingly well priced considering the guests have little option to go elsewhere. Breakfast was superb, as... More

We had a wonderful, reasonable package deal. Our casita was lake side with a wonderful view, outside sitting, and lake swings. The place was well maintained. Lake access was wonderful. The new pool was a delightful addition and the spa relaxing. Our breakfasts and dinners were some of the best food we've had in Mexico and we live here. Our package... More

What could have been a lovely stay in a pretty setting was marred by a three or four young families who allowed their very young children to run everywhere, including the dining area, without any restraint. Kids should be outside playing having fun, but two days of them running and screaming around diners at every meal took the shine off... More

As a group of friends (couples with young babies), we enjoyed a weekend at Rancho Encantado without having to leave the premises. The grounds are very nice: spread out cabanas, some in the garden and some on the lakefront, a restaurant pretty much open air, a swimming pool and direct access to the lake. Our room was a Suite Laguna... More

We spent 11 days in the Southern Yucatan with 2 nights at a hotel near Mahahual and 7 nights at Explorean Kohunlich which was fantastic. This trip was to celebrate my Birthday (big round number) and doing what I love most which is exploring and enjoying nature. We wanted to spend our last day and night directly on the Bacalar... This weekend was a long-planned opportunity to spend time alone together (sounds like an oxymoron) with my significant other. Since neither of us had been there before it was an exciting prospect for us but the reality was even better than advertised. I had asked for sunflowers in the room as a surprise for my GF and Shandel and Pablo... More

I liked almost everything about this hotel, if you want a break off from the city, this is one of the best options you will find in Bacalar. It is NOT for partying, so don't expect to be very noisy. The food is good, service is good the staff always helpful. I had a room with lagoon view and it... More

Hotel is supposed to be cottages in the rain forest.... Gardens are not well kept; rooms need maintenance. Construction is being done on what used to be gardens with no "camouflaging". We were party of 13 and were kicked out every day, in very rude terms, from jacuzzi, pool, restaurant at breakfast and dinner, as well as dock (even lagoon).... More

Dear visitor, I appreciate your comments and I am sorry to hear that you had some inconveniences during your stay at Rancho Encantado, and I apologize for that, but I ask you to understand that while your party of 13 people, were enjoying their stay, another 40 guests complained about the noise after hours of operation at the jacuzzi and... Not sure this place needs reviews. It's soo beautiful. Ask for a lagoon casita and you will want nothing more. Excellent restaurant, lovely atmosphere, friendly staff, and then the lagoon! Nature at its best.
