We were considering to stay in this place. The place has a great great view. You can look a big part of the lagoon from there. At last we just spend the day (We ate in the restaurant and swam in the pool) Pros: The view is great, price/quality is fair (eventhough you can find something better for the price)...

This is a nice place to go where you can see the beautiful laguna from the pool and roof. It is becoming more rundown but what workmanship with the shells. The pool is fabulous being fed by the cenotes that feed the lake. The rooms are older and the rooftop bar is no longer open but we had a very...

This little hotel in Bacalar is a great and quite hotel in the outside of the town of Bacalar. But as it is located outside of Bacalar, you cannot walk to the town, you need to pay for a taxi (between 2-3 USD for the ride) to get to the town and the attractions Bacalar has to offer. However, this...

I have been coming to Hotel Laguna for the last twenty five years. Back in the day, when Don Carlos used to run it, it was an impeccable stay. It went down a few years back, but it seems to be coming back....slowly. They have a new menu with a wider selection of choices...which were actually quite good. The bar...

This Hotel was a great discovery on a unplanned trip. We got to Bacalar without a reservation this was the first we looked and we where amazed by the view and the 70's style rooms. Love the table and chaos at the front porch of the room. The cenote and the lagoon are incredible I highly recommend this place.

We spent one night at this hotel in a super chalet style room with a balcony looking out on the lagoon. The room was clean and comfortable and we slept well. Dinner and breakfast were OK without being special, but we can recommend the vegetable soup which was wonderfully filling. The highlight for us was the sight of an osprey...

The Hotel is the first to be built along the Lagoon at Bacalar. The rooms are getting tired and are in need of refurbishing to a more modern standard. However the situation is beautiful with direct access to the lagoon for swimming.

We have stayed in this old hotel many times over the years. It used to be incredibly charming but was run down and had a staff that winced when they saw Americans coming. It's changed. The front desk, bartender and waiters are delightful. The rooms are clean enough and have electrical outlets. The showers are hot and the food isn't...

I didn't expect to come to Bacalar, but I wanted to see the "Cenote Azul"... then... we got on this side road, and we saw this incredibly beautiful lake... I thought it was the ocean, because the turquoise waters looked like those of CanCun... but it turned out to be a very large "cenote", so large it is a lake,...
