Problems with the booking: the room booked was no more available (???) when we checked-in. No will to solve the problem from the staff (worthless). Only after a heated argument they offered us an equivalent accomodation (meaning room with private toilet) for a higher price (!!!?), or a cheaper accomodation in dormitory with no windows and shared bathroom. After 2...

Thank you for your opinions !!!, but I'll remind you that you booked cheap rooms with shared bathrooms (Backpakers- Latacunga Hostel). You did not do it for Villa de Tacvnga which is another concept .. Anyway thank you, we will try to improve !!

Nice location with a historic feel. Clean nice rooms and a friendly staff. The breakfast is, as often in Ecuador, simple and you don't get any choice. The rooms are a bit noisy but if the neighbors also go to sleep its ok. I would come back again.

Mystified as to the high ratings on TA for this hotel. On the plus side, check in was easy, reception and all other staff friendly and helpful. However, there is a strange painting in reception which on closer inspection is definitely obscene, our room was small and dark, with a bizarre and very noisy door latch. Bathroom very dated, although...

Thank you for your comments, this does not allow to continue improving !!! but I remember his threats to qualify us zero. Remember, the water pump is operating schedules, it was indicated that the bomb goes off at 22H00 to avoid noise to other guests !!! Therefore, it takes encuenta your opinion, to avoid future complaints !!!

The hotel building itself is very very beautiful, the beds comfortable, and the staff (what there is) very friendly. They took good care of us, and the $5 breakfast was abundant and delicious. Like other reviewers, we were a little concerned with security, but had nothing of value with us so weren't too worried. The attention to detail, alas, was...

We were traveling that day when the earthquake hit....staff looked after us very well. I would suggest they upgrade locks on doors ....repaint rooms....hotel itself is beautiful. Close to parks and downtown. This is not a tourist location .

Our room was very comfortable and quite spacious. There was plenty of hot water for showers and even a heater to take the chill off at night. Unfortunately what prevents us from offering a more favourable review were concerns over security and service. On more than one occasion we were in the lobby. Keys to the rooms were clearly marked...

A quaint hotel in an old building with a very photogenic courtyard. Rooms have big wooden doors that are opened by large iron keys (just like in the olden days). Rooms have very nice old furnishings and plenty of space and comfort. Slept very well.

During our stay in January (2016) the hotel proprietor, Nelson, went out of his way to assist us with our travel arrangements, including advance purchasing the bus tickets we needed for the next leg of our trip to Cuenca. Our room was very nice, too.

Our room had a full size bed and a creaky bunk bed. The bathroom was adequate size and storage was ample. The rooms were quite clean, the linens minimal and the toiletries skimpy. The hotel is quite Spanish in decor and offers a cozy area to sit. The food at the restaurant attached was below par and I would suggest...

We chose to stay here for Christmas day and chose to stay in a suite which was stunning and large. We loved the historic nature of the hotel! We didn't realize being Christmas when we booked our lodging, that they weren't planning to have the kitchen open for dinner. We insisted that they refund us our 20$ so that no...
