Villa Del Borgo is a true delight. Perched on the side of a hill overlooking the quaint town of Canelli and the valley and vineyard-lined hills beyond, built out of a 16th c. church and lovelingly restored, run by the wonderful Patrizia and her staff, this is a place that must be experienced to truly appreciate its qualities and charms. We used Villa Del Borgo as our hub for daily drives to nearby towns, wineries, restaurants, small hilltop villages. We went during the harvest season, which meant the vintners were waiting for that perfect few days to harvest their Barbera, Nebbiolo, and Barbaresco grapes. Patrizia serves as a conciege of sorts, helping to shape your day, always pointing you in an interesting and helpful direction. Villa Dep Borgo has a spa, each room is lovely, with high ceilings, wonderful views, remodeled bathrooms, and fine linens and pillows. Morning breakfast is run by Simona, and it is a plethora of pastries, meats, cheeses, coffees and espressos, and scrabled egs with parmasean if you so desire. The best meal we had in the two weeks we spent in Italy (including in Venice and Bologna) is literally across the cobble-stone street at Civico 15.

Stunningly lovely place to stay. Friendly, professional service. Just the right size, cozy but not cramped. Exquisite breakfast. Every detail thought out with care, aesthetically and in terms of comfort. Canelli itself is a bit of a workaday town, but as a base to explore the region, it's a great choice. Canelli does have good restaurants, which is helpful. Would absolutely stay again. Just a note - the spa services (massage) comes with quite a hefty price tag. Worth checking beforehand, just to be prepared. Quality service, nevertheless.

We stayed in Villa del Borgo for two days. This is a family run small boutique hotel with excellent decoration. Hotel has been renovated 7 years from an old ancient dwelling. In the hotel you can see perfect blend of ancient characteristics with modern touches and signs. Owner Patrizia is a great host. She helped us with so many details, restaurant recommendations, truffle hunting, e Biking tours which made our stay memoriable. There is a great breakfast buffet with good selection of delicious home made pastiries, cookies . Highly recommended .

On a whim we decided to book Villa del Borgo for two nights and we were incredibly glad we did. What a fantastic surprise it was! We extended our stay and are longing to go back ever since.
From beginning to end, Patrizia and Paula and the other staff were sublime. They all know absolutely what a guest need. Both Patrizia and Paula made reservations for us at some fabulous restaurants around the hotel and we spend quite some time in the fantastic spa. Canelli is a cute town and we were lucky to enjoy a local wine festival as well.
The breakfast is superb and the woman providing the breakfast deserves special compliments. Super friendly and incredibly skilled.I make some fantastic scrambled eggs myself but was looking forward to her scrambled eggs with cheese every time. I want to know her secret!
We'd recommend staying in the Sternia suite. The bath is great to relax in and the room is super comfortable in general. If we go back to this region we'll stay at Villa del Borgo for sure.

Patrizia and her staff were very professional, friendly and very accommodative. We enjoyed the wine and hors d’ouerves by the pool with beautiful views of Canelli on our first day's visit. Simona prepared delicious breakfasts each day and was always willing to please us. Enrico was present and helpful to all of us. My husband and I travel to Italy often. We have stayed at numerous four- and five-star hotels but Villa Del Borgo has to be now at the top of our list. It is absolutely exceptional down to every last detail. Patrizia and her staff provide a beautiful setting, incredible service, and delicious breakfast with a variety of savory and sweet items, not to mention eggs to order from love Simona. Perfect stay in a stylish renovated monastery in old Canelli: quietly located within walking distance of the town with several, very good restaurants and wineries. Very cozy, spacious and well equipped room (we had a junior suite recommended!). Good beds, great breakfast! Patrizia and her team provide very friendly and personal support, such as recommending and booking restaurants and activities. We stayed there for 4 nights, and that was just right to explore the region. Wine tasting and eBike tour among the vineyards highly recommended!
