Unfortunately, the menu is very unimaginative, a little too few local pasta dishes, far too expensive for too little on the plate. Unfortunately, no points for the food. In the past, the menu was a bit more extensive and nutritious. That's why we liked to go out to dinner.
Which also took some getting used to, that we got the cappuccino billed at breakfast, although the first would actually be included. For such an award-winning hotel rather strange to pay extra cappuccino. The coffee provided in pots unfortunately not edible.
Had two bottles of white wine of the house with us on our beautiful terrace. Unfortunately, 20€ per bottle was also charged here, although this was awarded 12€. Didn't notice anything until later reviewing the final score. Not tragic, but annoying.
The staff Roberta, the service staff, room service very nice. Absolutely friendly.
The suite absolutely great.
Great bike rental in Canelli.
We would still come back
We will definitely return
Restaurant : the breakfast buffet was nice and homemade. You could ask for items not displayed and the lady is very charming and will do her possible to help you. The reception staff was nice & helpful too. At dinner (small menu with farm products) don't miss their *budino atzeco" a chocolatey pudding perfect for vegans that is virtually melting in your mouth (they only draw back : the chef keeps his receipe a secret!). The evening staff was ok but could be more efficient and organized (i.e. avoid to go back and forth empty handed pretending to be busy).
SPA : it is nice but small. The jacuzzi pool doesn't contain chlorine but brome that is quite bubbly when the spa is turned on. The indoor heated pool area is surrounded by a steam bath, chromotherapy showers, a small fitness area and treatment rooms (to be booked in advance as they don't have a large staff for massages; wanted to try their tibetan one, but it was not available). The swimming pool outdoors is nice too and also comes "with a view".
Children : will love the "petting zoo" (small area with chickens and an orchard). But if you want to have privacy and want to rest after a "hard week of work", ask not to be next to a family with infants as the one next door kept crying all night long with noisy parents too.
Rooms : one mini apartment ground floor. The 2nd floor superior rooms are bright and feature a very nice terrace with a sofa and loungers. Ours was occupied, most of the time, by a cat and her kittens. Charming, but it meant the sofa was their bed!
Agriturismo ambiance : a pity that, while the owner's family was present, none of the guests (italians and foreigners alike) got to chat with them. Are they shy or don't they want to mingle with their guests, which is usually a typical feature to be found in an "agriturismo"?
