Near Mâcon, at the outskirts of the quaint village of Fuissé – amid the famous Pouilly vineyards – this charming B&B with its 16th century masonry walls, cobblestone floors, giant timber beams and loads of artifacts will charm you from the moment you arrive. Sit in the patio and enjoy a cool glass of Saint-Véran, while taking in the view of the picturesque garden with its own river and goldfish pond. Relax in the private salon upstairs, read a book, play a game of chess, or listen to one of the guests playing the piano… before heading to your luxurious suite or spacious room – each one of them tastefully decorated – where you sleep in a heavenly bed far away from passing traffic and street noise. In the morning, enjoy the rich breakfast buffet prepared with love and care by Amélie, before going out to explore the patrimony of the southern Bourgone region with its legendary Solutré rock. In the evening, sit down for a succulent Repas du Terroir, especially prepared by the resident master chef. And don’t forget to ask the domain’s owner; Philippe, to let you taste his fabulous wines. This is the one stay you won’t forget!

My bride and I spent two nights of our honeymoon here, and we were delighted. Philippe provided an excellent experience on his property, which is enchanting. His food service, tips for local touring, his wine, hospitality, and his cheerfulness made this a very special part of our time in France. The location is off the beaten path, but it's surrounded by great sights for hiking and exploration. Our only regret is that we didn't spend a couple more nights.

From the minute we arrived until the minute we departed we could not have been looked after better by Philippe, the proprietor of this lovely property. He was the perfect host ensuring we were comfortable, sharing interesting details about the region and arranging a wine tasting for us and some other guests. The building itself oozes character and has been thoughtfully restored. Breakfast in the garden was a perfect way to start the day before setting off on our journey south. Whilst simple, the setting is beautiful and the food served was of a high quality. The only downside was a lack of air conditioning however that is totally understandable in a property of this type and wouldn’t in any way deter us from recommending it wholeheartedly. We look forward to our next visit.

One word - STUNNING! The owner, Philippe welcomed us and nothing was too much trouble. We sat drinking their wine in the warm sunshine, playing Scrabble and were waited on. The room we stayed in was bright and airy, clean and very tastefully done. A gorgeous array of breakfast foods this morning. No detail was left out. We would HIGHLY recommend staying here and would definitely come again. Parfait! ❤️🇫🇷🥂
