The rooms are clean and the area is soooo beautiful. Hard to to get to, but super nice. The food is fine and the staff is friendly. If you have the chance to hire the local guide you may be able to spot some pretty cool birds!

This a wonderful place. We went to enjoy some bird watching and some hiking. We were not disappointed. The lodging was very comfortable and in a very beautiful setting amidst a shade grown coffee area. Breakfast was included and lunch and dinner was also available at a minimal cost. It was very well prepared and equivalent to food in an...

We recently had the opportunity to visit La Bastilla for the first time and had an excellent and relaxing time. The service, food and accomodations were excellent. Karen, Wilfredo, Pequi and the other ladies were very friendly. Pequi stole our hearts; he is a smart, friendly and beautiful dog. We enjoyed the cool temperature, hiking, and the sights and sounds...

Great getaway for a few days. Peaceful, secluded property in a gorgeous setting. Some terrific hikes to be had in the surrounding area and the tour of the coffee plant was really worthwhile. Outstanding meals. Room was basic/sparse, spacious, clean. It featured a great balcony with a couple of rocking chairs and a beautiful view of the valley below. Staff...

La Bastilla has so much to offer not only in the heart of coffee country but in the heart of Reserva Natural Cerro Datanlí-El Diablo. Some activities I enjoyed offered were hiking, couples massage and coffee tasting! I am told that all of the profits from La Bastilla go to the local school!

It's a steep climb up to La Bastilla ecolodge and whilst the views are worth it the accommodation sadly is not. Our cabin was basic but ok, the bathroom however was disgusting. It was filthy & even if it was scrubbed it was so grotty it would never be or feel clean. There was only cold water & no towels....
