A nice place out of town. The bungalows look out on the garden. The bamboo huts are rustic, but with toilet and cold shower. The beds have mosquito nets. There is a place to meet and drink and eat. The food is cooked on a traditional oven heated on bamboo. The food is quite good - maybe the best in...

I have sent my very close guest to this property and it was simply awesome. For people who love to stay and be with nature the bamboo cottages are great. Please don't expect services of 3, 4 or 5 star hotels or resorts. It's a very homely and peaceful place to stay ....

Firstly research Happy House so that you know what you are coming to, what is on offer and what to expect. Happy House is not an hotel. This review is based on my expectations after careful research of what to expect. We arrived and to be honest the efficiency of the greeting was poor we were not advised of the...

surprisingly, out of all the hotels we stayed during our visit in India, unanimously this was chosen as the best. the whole purpose of our visit to this part of non touristic area, was to see the way of life of the locals. staying in this lodge was a first hand experience. the "rooms" are bamboo huts on poles where...

I was surprised at the lower reviews for this place. With the difficulty of reaching Majuli I knew I was going into Spartan living arrangements but that was part of the adventure. The hut itself is austere but has a western bathroom, in the sleeping area there are spaces between the floor boards where you can see the ground. The...

Hard to find but well worth it. You'll drive through paddocks and along the river track to get there. Breakfast and dinner is available and should be taken because firstly, it's delicious and secondly it's a way from restaurants. The bungalows are simple but well appointed with all necessary essentials, western toilet, nice beds with mosquito nets and balconies and...

The stilted cottages are very attractive..all have sit outs with big bamboo furniture. The doors don't lock..there is a peg affair to stick behind the door & a hook for your clothes. Our bedding was clean, but we couldnt tell if the rug was a dirty rug or a dirty bit of sacking! There were plenty of blankets in case we were...

Majuli isn't known for its hotels. I believe there are just 3 choices there and they are all some form of basic accommodation. We stayed here for 2 nights in March 2016. The accommodation is quite basic. So set your expectations accordingly. Pros: - This is a traditional Meshing home and not a resort built in the same style. So...

True, what other reviewers have stated. Very basic..I made the mistake of leaving some bananas from the drive in the room. Found it half eaten by rat. So lock up all food. I loved chicken roasted in bamboo.. staff very nice. EverythIng from goats, pig and dogs running under the huts. Island very interesting, great bird life, and weaving. We...

The Happy house is tucked away in quaint location at Majuli village. The cottages are basic yet clean. The cottages have western washrooms which are clean and basic.Don't expect anything too fancy.Yet the location is really good. There is river at the backside of the cottages. What I must mention here,is the service offered. If u are here just look for Mr.Das and he will...
