When the first words after "hello" are "can I take your credit card" it never gives a warm and welcoming impression. The rooms at this B&B are large and the original design was done with care. However the faults that we found were: rooms, particularly the tiled floors, were cold even though the weather was not particularly harsh, the breakfast...

We booked The Brownlow for Friday and Saturday night. As family were coming from far and wide and we wanted us all to stay in the same place, we reserved all the rooms. We were looked after by Debby and Karina, who were brilliant. We had cooked breakfasts for 19 on the two mornings, which were copious and really good;...

We recently fully booked out the whole B&B for a family get together of 15 adults and four small children. Initially concerned about the proximity of the canal, this proved only a minor distraction for the little ones - who were kept busy with the swans, dogs, boats - and generally having the free run of the area! There is...

Absolutely lovely homely place to stay. The ladies that run it are very welcoming and friendly. I am staying here long term too as I work away from home. I would recommend here to everyone, in fact i do!

Had a great weekend here cycling and walking in The Chilterns and by the canal which is alongside the BnB. I was very impressed by the facilities, spacious and tasteful room with a lovely hot and powerful shower. Breakfast was excellent quality and the landlady made us some sumptuous packed lunches. The staff were extremely friendly and very flexible when...

Looking at the website this B & B looked lovely and ideal for us due to location we needed for a night. Thank goodness it was only one night. The customer service is terrible. We told the lady we would be late as had to get the horse settled after a long journey and with a 4 hour journey hold...

Situated next to the Grand Union Canal, it's ideal for walking – Ivinghoe Beacon (where the Ridgeway ends/starts) is about 2 miles away. Plus there's also a walk along the canal itself, which is very pleasant with all the narrow boats. Although the adjacent B road seems to be busy the rooms face the canal and this means this didn't...

After finishing our walk along the Ridgeway, we were delighted to be welcomed and shown to a beautiful, spacious room by the canal. The beds were extremely comfortable with spotless cotton sheets and our bathroom had a large spotless bath and shower, with generous high quality towels. . The whole ensuite was airy and calm. Nothing was too much trouble,...
