Yeah it was ok, nothing special. Food average, service from the young waitress, excellent, but from the older lady, possibly the owner, very dismissive. Would I return, probably not. On the positive side we met a local chateau owner (American) lovely chap.

Came here for a meal for our anniversary while staying nearby. Our French isn't up to much but the staff were very patient with us and were able to speak English very well. We had a beautiful 3 course meal from a good selection of choices on a set menu and because they do half bottles of wine we were...

My wife and I, travelling with our grand-daughter, stopped at Hotel Le Pelican for one night on our way south to join the rest of the family. I had picked Hotel Le Pelican as I wanted somewhere that was in a quiet location, so I did not have to cope with city traffic, navigation, parking etc at the end of...

Lovely comfortable room spoilt by the roadworks right under our window for the 10 days we were there........Friendly,helpful staff, but the breakfast is poor, with little choice and getting a cup of Coffee was like asking for blood.........Parking is a bit hit n miss at the Hotel itself, but there is plenty close by......Nothing to do in Vernantes itself, but...

My company spent a week in the area and had 6 meals prepared by Chef Dupree and his team. They were delightful and friendly and the food was delicious. I still think about the mussel soup (and I don't even like mussels very much), the beef with cherry sauce, and one buttery fish dish that was outstanding.

Everything Chef Dupree prepared for us was fabulous. I was impressed by the variety and the quality of the preparation in particular. Even dishes I had eaten before were so far above and beyond that it felt like I was experiencing them as they were meant to be prepared.

We had the opportunity of having several dinners prepared by Chef Dupree during our stay in France and there is only one adjective that fits: he is *awesome* and made me appreciate even dishes that I usually dislike

Having visited the restaurant and really enjoyed the delicious food on two previous occasions while staying in a cottage in the area, when an overnight stay was needed we opted to stay at the hotel. This was a pleasant experience, the staff are very friendly and helpful and the room small but very clean and comfortable. While the breakfast is...

Spent one night there on our way from Center of France to the Atlantic ocean coast. Got a very nice large room impeccably clean and on the side of the hotel (above the small side street) so nice and quiet. Decor is nice an comfortable. Given the size of the room there was more storage place and convenient comfortable seating...

VIsited only once on the recommendation of previous visitors to the gite we were staying in. Our experience was very good - a traditional French restaurant with an interesting menu. Service was efficient and friendly, food was tasty and well-presented. Not cheap, but reasonable value. Would visit again.
