We arrived after cycling 60kms to what can only be described as an anaemic welcome from the owner. The setting is perfect next to the Loire (keep your windows shut when the lights are on - the bugs make an appearance at dusk), and the food a gastronomic feast of rich ingredients. Vegetables are infrequently seen on the side of... More

We stayed here as a family of 6 in two triple rooms. The rooms were generous in their proportions and comfortable. The dinner menu is exceptional in its portion size, and we were not able to complete all the courses on offer. The food was delicious and the staff were diligent and attentive. The location is a good base for... More

Location great by River Loire, rooms modernised and comfortable, well worth the price. Excellent meals, my wife and I have been staying for at least 20 years as we pass through on our holidays and it has always been a lovely place to stay at sensible prices.

Romantic setting on the terrasse of the restaurant overlooking the Loire during the sun set ,we had a fantastic food experience with the 42€ menu incuding amuse bouche, starter, main course, cheese platter, dessert coffee and mignardise. The only negativ point is : being on the river bank at that time brings some midges. Very kind waiters.

Poor service. Food not worth the price. Very disappointing. Flies in food. No diversion offered such ss sugar water or old fashioned common knowlege tricks offered by attentive waiters who do not make it their job to simply turn away and not see. Highly disappointing.

We have just spent 4 days at this hotel and restaurant - it is still as good as it ever was. Absolutely fantastic food and restaurant plus the wine cellar is simply unsurpassed. Accommodation is fine, if just slightly old fashioned but very comfortable - the family run facility is just quite charming. Location on the bank of the river... More

The Manoir is a charming traditional old world hotel in a picturesque setting on the banks of the Loire. If you are looking for "boutique" and high tech this wont be for you but if you want romantic, relaxed and charming , this is the place. The staff are polite and helpful and the restaurant is excellent and represents very... More

Fine french hotel. Not a design hotel, but what else can one expect in an 18th century building. Nice room, good (but small) bed and bathroom not very convenient. Very low toilet ! Good located for cycletours along the river to various castles / gardens. Pity we had poor wheather during our 5 nights stay. We had great diners twice... More

On our way back from a holiday to Spain, travelling trough France, we decided to pick a spot between Tours and Orleans in de Loire area. Our car navigation system delivered us a list of hotels and we just picked one. Arrival at the hotel promised us a Grand hotel in a landhouse style accomodation. On this friday night the... More

Manoir Bel Air is a the sort of French country hotel you always dream of finding but rarely do. It's in a lovely setting, backing right onto the Loire on the edge of a small village, but well enough off the road to be silent. It's surrounded by pleasant gardens, and has roomy common areas where you can sit and... More
