Detailed Reviews
Absolutely amazing place, decorated so beautifully.
Communication: Contacting the owner was easy and we was sent emails regarding what we needed to do when leaving (due to covid) and the emails also included directions, things to do, places to eat etc
Cleanliness: The barn was kept very nicely and very clean. We had no concerns or worries during our stay.
The Old Parlour Barn: We stayed in The Old Parlour Barn which was absolutely stunningly decorated. It was very cosy, relaxing and very luxurious. We really enjoyed our stay and we cant wait to go back. The photos do not do it justice one bit.
Local Area: Beautiful scenic views, plenty of local amenities i.e. the pubs, the pub farm shop. Bigger shops such as Morrisons/ Aldi are in Nantwich, about a 30 minute drive away.
Things to do : A gorgeous canal is located nearby next to The Dusty Miller pub which was a gorgeous walk on a beautiful day.
Eating out: We dined out at a pub called The Swan which is in Marbury and the food was delicious. Staff were great, food was perfect and the atmosphere was lovely. A little bit pricey but worth every single penny.
Pubs: There are two pubs within 1/4 a mile down the road from the barn, The Cotton Arms and The Dusty Miller.

Wow what can we say ? Thank you so much for an amazing stay at the Cowshed this week. Such lovely touches like the welcome surprise Happy birthday banner for my wife's 50th birthday outside & inside my daughter was thrilled to see a Congratulations banner for her gsce exam results, fresh mint for her & t & fresh flowers etc all very thoughtful & made the stay even more special.
The Cowshed was immaculate, absolutely spotless & had everything we needed for our minibreak. It was beautifully decorated throughout we all loved the authentic & vintage feel like the decor & fixtures & fittings & from reading the guest book information they have a story to tell! We made use of both the indoor & outdoor baths every night & our daughters loved that they could watch TV in the living room from either bath - pure luxury for teenagers ! The attention to detail from Rachel & her housekeeper Julie was amazing & really made our stay extra special.
We had facials at the barn by Sophie, booked in advance - which were bliss & visited the restaurants & eateries that were recommended & throughly enjoyed them all. We have come back feeling very spoilt & thoroughly chilled out. Thank you for such an enjoyable & memorable stay - we will be back!

Just returned home after a lovely three nights spent at the Old Parlour Barn, for my Husband’s 40th. We had the most perfect stay, it was beyond relaxing. Despite the current uncertain times our host Rachael made every effort to ensure everything was in place and still to the highest standard, whilst making necessary changes to keep us safe. The barn is decorated beautifully, it has a unique and rustic feel as well as being luxurious. It is well equipped with everything you need and is spotlessly clean. The exterior courtyard is completely private and stunning, even on a rainy this can be enjoyed due to the glass roof. The location is tranquil, surrounded by green space, with picturesque villages and plenty of eateries near by, also with in driving distance to many attractions.
I would highly recommend a break away at Cheshire Boutique Barns. My Husband felt super special on his Birthday, having such perfect accommodation and even a massage from the local beautician who came to the barn. I must also mention the largest bath I have ever seen, in the potting shed, it took me back to my childhood not being able to reach the end! There was nothing more relaxing than having a bath with the doors slung open, fresh air on my face, glass of champagne in my hand and a view of the countryside.
We were sad to leave but will hopefully be back one day. 5 stars from us.

I booked a two-night stay in July at The Old Parlour just as the lockdown restrictions had eased for my partner's 50th Birthday. It exceeded all my expectations. I was worried that I would not be able to make the weekend special because of the restrictions but The Old Parlour was just perfect in every way. So much so that we didn't even set foot out the door until it was time to sadly go home. It really is a luxury getaway, hideaway and a place where you can just relax and recharge the batteries. The furniture and furnishings are just gorgeous and the outside space is fabulous - in fact, it inspired our friends to rethink their garden plans! I can't recommend Cheshire Boutique Barns highly enough and we can't wait to go back again soon!

I couldn’t recommend Cheshire Boutique Barns enough... I booked a weekend stay in the Old Parlour Barn and all throughout lockdown Rachael kept in touch with me with any updates regarding to Covid, she answered any questions I had regarding our stay and was super helpful. Our weekend was literally perfection, I had a bottle of champagne on arrival with a personalised note, we had a meal at the Cholmondeley Arms which the food was delicious and we tried many, many gins! On Sunday we had a relaxing day by booking in a full body massage with their Georgie, which I would also recommend, it gave us the perfect Sunday feels. The barns are designed to the T, so cosy and romantic and super clean! Everything you need is there, they even put a little milk carton in the fridge for you! Thank you Rachael for an amazing stay, we will be back! Xx

The weekend of our stay we were due to be married but, as with many other couples, Covid-19 changed all that and our wedding was postponed. However, we didn't want the weekend to be spent at home thinking "if only" so looked to book somewhere very special as a treat - we found exactly that with Cheshire Boutique Barns.
Booking was effortless and we received a wealth of incredibly helpful information on places of interest in the area including bars, restaurants, walks and practical advice on things like local and reliable taxi services.
Cheshire Boutique Barns just says "class" as soon as you walk through the door; every room, every corner has something beautiful located there and it is clear Rachael has an eye for detail, fantastic taste and spared no expense to make this such a beautiful place to stay.
Nothing was too much trouble during our visit and, given the reason we were staying, Rachael also made the place incredibly romantic ready for our arrival.
Covid-19 precautions had been carefully thought through and were in place.
This is without doubt a hidden gem and we cannot wait to go back.

We had the most wonderful time at the Parlour Barn. The interior was stunning with real attention to detail from fresh lavender by the outdoor tub, to lemon balm to accompany our tea. The courtyard was the highlight and it felt like being in another country altogether. Perhaps a little cosy with 2 boisterous boys in tow, but Alderford Lake, Delamere Forest and Tatton Park provided plenty of opportunities for activities and exercise. In fact, we enjoyed our stay so much we are considering a move to this part of Cheshire. Rachael is an amazing host and very quick to respond to any queries we had. Loved this place! Thank you, Rachael. We'll be back!

Stayed here for two nights last weekend (in the Cowshed) with my partner and had the most relaxing time. Attention to detail made this the perfect break. Everything you could want had been thought of. We enjoyed making use of the bath whilst watching a film on both evenings (I had hoped we could maybe use the outside bath – but could not see any outside heating, so am guessing this is only really practical in the summer – which is a shame as that was one of the appealing things about this barn). That aside, the barn was gorgeous (it even smelt lovely, thanks to the diffusers!) and it was a shame we could not have stayed longer to make more use of it! It Is a great base to visit local attractions (we went on a lovely circular walk from Beeston Castle to Peckforton Caste, we also visited Hack Green Nuclear Bunker and Chirk Castle). Unfortunately a lot of the recommended restaurants had closed down or were just not open, but we had a lovely dinner at Churches Mansion and two great breakfasts at Stapely House Tea Room).

We have just came back from 4 nights staying in the old parlour 1st impressions matter and it did give us that .. we paid extra for barn to be lite with tea lights and a bottle of champagne (for the cost of this service not the best of quality) ,fire was alight and did smell lovely..Although not from the diffusers as were all dried up and had lost smell.
That was from the oil on the heaters a little trick I use also.
However once in daylight we started to notice it is a little bit tired cobwebs, chips in woodwork kitchen units a bit grubby , all fake plants look a bit drab around the entrance door and in the back area .
The owner does state white company bedding ,being a lover of the white company was thrilled with this aspect only to find out they weren't from white company.
The barns are in a really peaceful setting and we did really feel relaxed all in all just needs a bit more T.L.C
It would have also have been very helpful to have been told prior to arrival that all the local pubs they recommended were closed and the one that is open doesn't do food till march sometime opening at 4pm.
So if you don't want to cook you will have to travel or the nearest Indian take away does deliver for a fee of £8.95.
The property does supply a bbq but its very small and inadequate.
All in it is a very lovely property I just expected a bit more attention to detail. And would rate it 4 *

Response from rachael hill, Owner at Cheshire Boutique Barns
Responded 13 Jan 2023
Thank you so much for your honest review. I am so sorry your experience was not as good as most of our other guests have had. Our diffusers oils are handmade with 100% organic oils by a fabulous local lady who delivers fresh ones every couple of months. We were just between deliveries during your stay so I am sorry they had not been removed as they should have been. I am delighted that our housekeepers had still though to put the oils on the heaters though so that it still smelt lovely for your stay. The barns were all fully redecorated in February so I am sorry to hear you felt there were some chipped paint work. I will re-inspect immediately! The open air outdoor areas with glass roofs are cleaned and de-cobwebbed with every changeover but being so rural and outside cobwebs can re-appear over night. Im not sure what we can do about that but I will certainly put my mind to a solution so thank you again for letting us know. Also, the plants around the entrance. We pride ourselves in fresh seasonal plants - daffodils in spring, beautiful flowering geraniums in summer, bright orange pumpkins and deep purple sedums in Autumn and gorgeous pine trees in winter but sometimes between seasons we do pepper the outdoor areas with a few well chosen artificial shrubs, not to everyone's liking i know! The bedding is top of the range 600 thread count cotton but we are slowly phasing out the branded bed linens however all our complimentary toiletries are from The White Company. The BBQ is a family size, free standing charcoal variety. All our barns have fully equipped kitchens and we are just a 5 minutes walk to the Dusty Miller or two miles up the lane from the Uk's Pub of The Year The Cholmondeley Arms and also the Swan at Marbury - both serve superb food! I am so sorry that when you visited The Cholmondeley Arms was temporarily closed due to staffing issues. This is the first time this has ever happened at The Chomondeley Arms. The Dusty Miller does sometimes close in quiet seasons like january and sadly we don't always get notified of any last minute decisions so we are not always in a position to pass on this information to our guests. I can image this was annoying for you though and again, I am sorry. I am delighted that overall you enjoyed your stay though and that you thought it was a very lovely property. Thank you for choosing Cheshire Boutique Barns.

We stayed for 2 nights in The Nest for a well needed break and fell in love with the place! The barn is beautiful and all the little touches made the weekend so perfect.
All the facilities are of high standard and the bed is one of the comfiest things I have ever had the pleasure of sleeping in! The outside bath was great as it was so tranquil and peaceful outside.
It was lovely to have little extras such as coffee, milk, salt, pepper and oil etc provided. We felt like we had everything and more within this barn.
There are lots to do in the area, we ventured out to Bickerton Hills which was a lovely walk only 10 minutes away. We also tried out the Gin Tasting at Cholmondeley Arms which I would highly recommend!
Thank you to Rachael as she was such a lovely host and provided us with all the information we needed. We will definitely return to try out the other barns very soon!
