Beyond Kata hotel is often commended for its cleanliness and vibrant atmosphere, with daily housekeeping and a beachfront location that's steps away from Kata Beach and local amenities. However, guests have called out noise disturbances and the desire for quieter environments. While the service receives mixed reviews for friendliness but slow response times, some travelers feel the hotel's value is diminished by overpriced rooms and food, as well as extra charges for certain amenities.

Pros: very nice hotel, very nice architecture, spacious room, friendly and smiling waiters except a person of a certain age (no smile) very friendly maid and very well done cleaning, very nice beach
negative points: having booked 6 months in advance asking for a quiet top floor room (very important point for us) and having paid 250 euros more for a superior room we are assigned a room ground floor next to an electric generator (so huge noise) getting another room the next day that met our criteria. But no excuse
food: catastrophic not worthy of a 4 star. In the land of fish no fish worthy of the name, rice (rice with no taste) fruits (acidic and hard pineapple, watermelon (we have some in France) no small bananas so good in Thailand. Fruit without any taste. We had to buy pineapple and bananas in the street (so good) meat served (chicken small pieces that must cost 50 cents per kg, pork idemme. Croissant and jam is said to be homemade (I do not believe for a second). Thai dishes that are so spicy and inedible. One evening cauliflowers and broccoli, carrots (we have some in France) Luckily we had a credit of 1300 bath/day to be able to eat at the other restaurant. milk and cakes not even put in the fridge in a flat display case poses two hours before the service in a temperature of 28 degrees (no respect for the cold chain) Really not worthy of a four star
in the morning no one coming to have breakfast with string that fits in the buttocks (with dress that covers but so transparent) the waiters say nothing a little respect for the country. No entertainment (singers every night) bcp enjoyed massages at the hotel good price, good service
deckchair paying at the beach, deckchair taken very early in the morning with towel that stays on the deckchair without the people (no one says anything) towels put on the railing while a message informs us not to (direction says nothing)
in summary disappointed with the hotel it's a shame.
We will not return to this hotel

We recently stayed at Beyond Kata in Phuket and had a memorable time, although there were some areas that could be improved to enhance the overall experience.

The Positives:

Cleanliness: The rooms were absolutely spotless, which we greatly appreciated. The housekeeping team clearly does an outstanding job.

Beach: The beach was immaculate, warm, and just a short walk from the resort. It’s a major highlight for anyone who loves spending time by the sea.

Food: The food at the pool bar was delicious! While the variety at the atrium buffet for breakfast, lunch, and dinner could be a bit more diverse, what was offered was well-prepared and enjoyable.

Couples-Friendly: This resort is perfect for couples or groups of friends looking for a quiet getaway. It’s not particularly suited for families with teenagers or those seeking lively entertainment.

The Negatives:

Pool Bar Service: The pool bar felt like a missed opportunity. It wasn’t even fully equipped, and we often had to work to get the staff’s attention for service. Adding music, live television, and a bartender who engages with guests could transform this space into a lively and welcoming area.

Connecting Rooms: We stayed in room A2347, which had a connecting door to A2345. Unfortunately, the soundproofing was poor, and we could hear everything from the neighbouring room. If peace and privacy are important to you, I recommend requesting a room without a connecting door.

Towel Policy: The policy requiring guests to bring wet pool towels back to their rooms for exchange felt inconvenient. A simple towel drop-off area near the pool would be a much more guest-friendly solution.

Staffing Levels: The resort appeared understaffed, especially for all-inclusive guests. There was only one pool bar attendant, and while we understand how demanding hospitality can be, staff like Jueenporn could benefit from training to provide a more warm and welcoming demeanour.

Activities and Atmosphere: There were no organised pool activities or entertainment, and many guests, including ourselves, were hoping for music or something to liven up the atmosphere.

Overall, Beyond Kata has a lot going for it, especially in terms of location and cleanliness. With a few improvements in service, entertainment, and guest policies, it could truly live up to its potential.

We would consider returning, but we hope the management takes these suggestions on board to make future stays even better.

We stayed 14 nights all inclusive with Club Coralia in this hotel in November 2023. We stayed in a Deluxe room (1201). The room is large, well equipped and clean. Cleaning is done every day by adorable, discreet and very professional cleaning ladies. The bedding is excellent. The view from the room (sea) was very pleasant. We recommend bringing earplugs because the air conditioning is a little noisy.

Catering includes morning, midday and evening buffets. The breakfast is pantagruelian...the lunch buffet is more limited but correct. The evening buffet is rich and varied, including international and Thai cuisine (often a little spicy), grilled meats, including large shrimp, fish, blue crabs... in short, there is something for all tastes and musical entertainment (good singers). Unlimited drinks during meals, cocktails/beer/coffee/fruit juice... during the day at the pool bar. It is also possible to eat at the beach bar/restaurant. We dined there two evenings but were not impressed (the menu was too limited and premium).

The strong point of the hotel is obviously its location directly on the southern part of Kata beach (only two hotels are in this case...). Just a small staircase (10 steps) and you are on the beach. The beach is beautiful and it is possible to snorkel near the rocks to the south of the beach (200 m from the hotel). You can have some great animal encounters there!!

The swimming pool is not very big but it is pleasant. There is always a little squabble over deckchairs, but we always manage to find a place! In November we were at the very beginning of the high season... I don't know what it will be like in December/January.

The vacationers are 70% Russian (rather couples with children) and afterwards, French, Italians, English, Australians...

The hotel is also located in a fairly lively area of Phuket (no annoying noise for the hotel). Many shops, restaurants, markets...

The entertainers at the Coralia club are very friendly and not pushy if you want to stay calm. The entertainment is quite limited (it suited us very well). Those who need to be taken care of constantly, know that this is not the case here.

We went to Similan with Club Coralia and we were very satisfied. Be careful, this is not a small group excursion!! but beautiful things to see there (turtles...).

Finally, if you like that, we recommend the massages and treatments at the hotel's Kanda Spa. Ok it's more expensive than outside, but that has nothing to do with it... quality of the place, hygiene, kindness and professionalism of the staff...

Couldn't fault our luxury escape holiday. From the initial greeting to the sad day of departure, all the staff were friendly and obliging. The room was great, we upgraded to a seaview although most of our time was spent on the sunbeds enjoying the absolute beach front. The fixed menu, including drinks, was a great deal. To those who knocked the food, etc, may we suggest you go to a Michelin star restaurant as that may be the only place to satisfy your culinary requirements. The only negative is that starters and mains were brought to the table together, although we asked for them separately.
Beach front, street shopping directly opposite and a great resort you really didn't have to leave. Who could ask for more? Thank you.

My partner and I, we were staying at Beyond Kata from 3rd November to 10th November 2024 - room number 2229. Unlike Patong beach where it is normally hustle and bustle but this hotel resort is located in the great location in Kata beach, quiet but great local neighborhood vibe if you want to look for relaxing holiday.

We booked this holiday with Luxury Escape Australia and we had all inclusively of breakfast buffets, lunch and dinner (buffet and a la carte menu options), free flow alcohol and non-alcohol drinks (fixed menu) plus 30 minutes Thai massage for each person and 7 nights stay at this resort.

Food and drinks selection were ok, I wish it was colder for salad station and hot food wasn’t hot enough. They were all in room temperature and stayed out for quite long time before guests arrived.

Thai people are very friendly, they always greeted us with their traditional gestures with warm welcome smiles. I wish they could speak more English but other than that they were very nice and helpful from receptionist, concierge, bar and restaurant staff and of course housekeeping staff. I would like to acknowledge, Koko and Ben (Atrium restaurant); Rona, Phung and Noel (Poolside Bar), Aily and Amy (Kanda Spa) and more. Sorry if I can’t remember you all names. They were very friendly, and tried their best to go above and beyond to make sure our holiday is unforgettable experienced while we were there.

Cheers,
Victor & Wayne

We spent 5 nights with breakfast. in this hotel. Depending on your expectations it may be good or not....

What we liked. : the hotel is well placed for discovering "life in a tourist area", going out to eat in the street and local restaurants.
Direct access to Kata beach. The possibility of doing a little snorkeling on the left in the rocks, (be careful we had a few jellyfish at the beginning of March)
The rooms are well equipped, towels and toiletries are provided, the hair dryer is hidden, look carefully in the drawers. Cleaning was done every day. The hotel is clean and in good repair. The restaurant and bar prices in the hotel are correct, slightly more expensive than in the street.

The way: reception, the room is only available at 3 p.m. so if you arrive early in the morning you must bring your swimsuits to take advantage. Breakfast, basic nothing more (for the sweet, the salty not tasted).
There is some entertainment during the day and music in the evening. Depending on what you are looking for...

The lessers :
We had a basic room (probably one of the cheapest...) the view overlooked the noisy street. We asked if it was possible to change but we were told that everything was booked...?! Fortunately the window is of fairly good quality and reduces noise. Finally we saw rooms whose view was worse than ours, on the ground floor on the street side: no view at all, or on the neighbor's wall. !! For a 4* this should not exist...
The swimming pool is small and shallow, 1.25m, and the water is therefore super warm. The deckchair area is lined with deck chairs stuck together. We can barely move them to stay in the shade of the parasol. (The deckchairs at the beach are payable/ext. at the hotel) People reserve the chairs and are not there (this problem is everywhere) in short. The beach was also very busy at this time.

We felt a little suffocated in this atmosphere because we prefer more spacious and quiet hotels.

Excellent hotel! Many reviews have been written about the fact that the hotel is located on the beach, I won’t repeat it, but the location of the hotel is just perfect! The cleaning is very high quality, although when we first checked in there was a completely different feeling, but maybe the room was just empty for a long time, because subsequently there were absolutely no complaints about the cleaning! 2 bottles of water in the room free of charge, 2 capsules for the coffee machine, instant tea/coffee/sugar, all replenished daily. Breakfast - yes, monotonous, the dishes practically do not change, but you won’t remain hungry, and we didn’t go there because of breakfast! The beach is gorgeous, the staff is great, shops/cafes/massages are within walking distance. There are a lot of sunbeds by the pool, but after 9-00 you will have to look)) overall, I recommend it 100%!

We had a lovely break at Beyond Kata with a few hits and some misses!

The hits- The location is the big winner here, opposite a beautiful beach and lots of shops and restaurants surrounding. Our rooms were comfortable, clean and tidy and we thank Ae for the wonderful job she did in servicing our rooms each day during our stay. The pool was divine and there are plenty of sunlounges available, we did not have an issue with people reserving them. The a la carte restaurant was great, so nice to be able to sit outside and listen to the nightly entertainment.

The misses- As mentioned by other reviewers the pool bar is seriously understaffed, you wouldn't want to be dying of thirst! An attendant is not stationed on the pool side and those in the pool are constantly trying to get attention from those working on the other side of the bar to order a drink. Attention to hygiene practises could also be improved as one of the wait staff Num just grabbed a glass from the sink and rinsed it before making our drink and you could still see the lipstick on it and we had to ask if we could please have glasses that have come out of the dishwasher!
The friend I travelled with and I had booked separate rooms but instead of placing us in rooms next to each other we were separated and an extended family had rooms on either side of us, who spent a lot of time in the evening going from one room to the other, banging doors, taking crying children from room to room. The walls are too thin!

Despite the misses if you're looking for a relaxing break in a fabulous location then Beyond Kata ticks the boxes.

Please read my review before booking this hotel!

My family and I stayed at the Beyond Kata Hotel in the first half of October 2024.

+ I'll start with the pros: the hotel is incredibly beautiful, clean, aesthetic. It has a direct access to the public beach (which is rare for Phuket), there are a lot of sunbeds on the hotel grounds. From the outside, we can say that this is a heavenly place. They also have a free mini bar in the rooms: water, tea, coffee, coffee machine - use as much as you want, replenish every day. This, perhaps, ended the pros.

- Now about the cons:
1. The water in the pool is uncomfortable warm, even hot. Of course, not all hotels have a cooling system, but keep in mind that the sea is warm and the pool is almost hot, so it's a little difficult to freshen up in the heat.
2. Almost every sunbed hangs a sign that you’re not allowed to bring your own food and drinks to their place. Such an interesting rule, given that on the beach, 10 meters from the hotel, locals sell fruit shakes for 50 baht, and the hotel have the same shakes in the Pool Bar for 120 baht. However, we violated this rule and no one told us anything, perhaps we were just lucky.
3. All staff speaks very bad English. This is strange, considering that firstly, the hotel is not cheap. And secondly, 40% of their vacationers are Americans. Almost always had to communicate with gestures, because the staff just smiles and is silent if you speak to them in English.
4. Avoid the restaurant at the hotel! There are no complaints about the buffet at breakfast. But one day we decided to have dinner in the same restaurant and I got poisoned with a dish with squid. The poisoning was very strong, I had to go to a local hospital.
5. If suddenly you still get poisoned or something else happened, then keep in mind that the staff does not care about you. They didn't even help us order a taxi at night. Just repeated “no, no” and shrugged. We had to catch a taxi and get to the hospital on our own.
6. Room cleaning leaves much to be desired. For several days in a row, I left a note for the cleaning lady next to the tips so that she threw out the trash can in the bathroom. Tipping was picked up, the note was thrown away, the garbage still remained in the trash.

In general, the hotel is not bad, but the above disadvantages greatly spoil the impression. Especially when a problem happens and you understand that the hotel doesn't give a damn about you, your problems, just pay a fine for a broken bottle, and everything else is not our area of responsibility. And they do not correspond to such a price tag for their hotel. Perhaps 2 stars is unfair, but they did not deserve three stars either, in my opinion.

Dream stay in this beautiful hotel has an idyllic beachfront location.
We spent 12 days in all inclusive fabulous, punctuated by the sun, laziness.
Our room was very spacious with double bed and really comfortable bedding and huge we had a view of the garden and partial sea. (Room 1423)
Daily cleaning, bottled water in the room, towels for the pool available daily.
The hotel as a whole is a warm and man-sized clean establishment.
The breakfast buffet was always very full varied and hot until 10am despite all comments to the contrary.
The lunch and dinner buffet was smaller but more than enough.
The pool bar service has always been fast including poolside. Cocktails and soft drinks, smoothie always very fresh and bottles of water always available.
The credit offered of 650 bath/person/day to use at the beach bar restaurant is a real plus.
The staff at the hotel is one of the best we have experienced on holiday.
Available, very smiling and exceptionally kind.
We will return without hesitation and recommend it with eyes closed.
Thank you also to the francophone team of the coralia club david, boris, geoffrey, alexia and May for its welcome, dynamism and advice.
Thanks for everything beyond Kata resort.
Martyna & Sonia.
