3 friends and I stayed 3 nights at Kinigi Guesthouse (a friend was doing the Gorilla Track and we were hiking the volcano - Bisanke). Very friendly staff, hot water (on demand), fire at night in the room (on demand) and very welcoming manager. It is pretty cheap (10 000 rwf/night/person) and located 5 mins from the park's headquarter (where...

Where to begin. The place is falling apart, there was no hot water (or any water al all at times), the rooms are dirty, the staff are slow and disinterested. The guesthouse was relatively empty when we stayed there, and yet it took TWO HOURS to get the dinner we ordered and the food was not good. Our complaints about...

Kinigi Guesthouse is certainly rather basic. However, the staff is very friendly, the food is mostly reasonable, and room rates are okay. Compared with other basic accomodations in Rwanda it is really value for money. What makes the guesthouse most pleasant is 1) the view and the atmosphere, particularly at sunset, when the mountains are bathed in golden and orange...

There is no doubt about it, if you want to stay overnight near to the gathering site for gorilla trekking then Kinigi Guest House is the only place to stay - it's a short walk up the road. Otherwise it is now showing its age. I can remember staying there back in 1999 when it had first opened and I...

What a nice place to spend a few nights. Set in the foothills of the Virungas, Kinigi Guest House certainly has a picturesque backdrop. While the rooms were basic, the service was not, nor was the food. Faustin and his team made us feel incredibly welcome. We spent each evening curled up by the fire in the communal living space,...

I really liked this place, It's just a little down the street from the Volcanoes National Park. Its a very different experience than staying in Musanze. The people who worked here were all quite friendly and helpful. The food in the restaurant was quite decent, If I had my own transportation this would be an ideal place, The social area...

The location and view were fantastic! The food was hot and plentiful. There was a nice social area with a fireplace. The place was conducive to meeting other travelers. The bedrooms were tight, which was fine as we weren"t in them very much, however, it did make manuevering at night a bit tricky. The shower was cold, but I think...

Kinigi Guesthouse was my first stop during a 10 day Rwanda/Uganda trip in September '15. I arrived at Kigaly airport in the afternoon and I wanted a stopover on my way to Bwindi for a gorilla trek. I arrived in the guesthouse early evening when it was already dark and left early in the morning. Thus I dont really have...

I would have given the hotel 3 stars but added a star based on the location of the hotel. The hotel is literally steps from the entrance/check in spot for Gorilla Trekking. The rooms are clean and the staff is very attentive. That being said - the rooms could use updating. I have a feeling this was one of the...

The guesthouse is colorful from the outside, has a nice layout, some round african huts in a beautiful garden. The room I had was nicely planned, but it had only one socket. Nowadays not nearly enough. The lightswitches were in unusual places, I'd have to walk around a low wall to switch off the light. It was also placed very...

“There weren't many rooms by the looks so any would be fine. If you are travelling in a group or family the VIP room might be ok with 2 bathrooms (1 with shower, 1 with tub), a "lounge" area, however, only 1 double bed.”

“Corner room is big enough for 3 persons. The staff added us there one bed, so we could share one room and it was also for better price than take 2 rooms.”
