This hotel was perfectly fine with good beds. The food was good. As was standard with all of Rwanda the staff was aggressive about tipping to the point where we tried our best to carry our own bags etc. while avoid being chased to hand over our muddy boots after trekking. The views were great when it was clear enough...

We spent 2 of our 3 nights here on our trip to Volcanoes National Park for gorilla trekking. I say 2 of 3 since the lodge overbooked and booted us on arrival to a nearby property. That's pretty inconvenient to have to unpack, trek the next day, repack and move. On that alone, I ding this property's ratings. This practice...

The website doesn't do this place justice. We are two mid thirties professionals from San Francisco and we thought we were going to be "slumming" it at the beginning of or trip in Rwanda. Not the case. Honestly we were surprised how great The lodge was because the website looks so plain. We are easy to please but the service...

We loved our room at the Mountain Gorilla View Lodge. Every night, a staff member would light a wood fire in our room (a cabin really). The nice roaring fire and hot water bottle were wonderful in the cool evenings. Our room and bathroom and bathroom were huge. The lodge is decorated in a very pleasing African motif also which...

The setting is great but our room was worse than an army barrack. Lots of space but no furniture but a bed and small table with little decorating the walls. We had four sconces for lights but only one worked. Our hall light and bathroom lights were fixed twice but quit working on our next return. They did supply a...

This lodge is in a very convenient place and the food was the best we had in Rwanda. However be aware our room was double booked and even though we had a confirmation of dates on email, when we arrived the lodge was full and we had to find alternative accommodation. Having spoken to other people after it appears this...

We stayed at the Mountain Gorilla View Lodge for two nights to do a gorilla check. The main building is beautifully rustic, with wood beams and a fireplace in the common area. Check in was smooth and the cabins--wow! Your individual cabin is huge, with a sofa and chairs facing out the large front window, a fireplace, and spacious bathroom....

Excellent location and beautiful surroundings and people. We had a fantastic time here. They were so nice. Oh , they clean your shoes after the gorilla trek. You would think they were new shoes! Food was great, room was cozy and large. We enjoyed two days of gorilla treks! It was amazing!

This is one of the older lodges in Volcanoes mountain park and is convenient to trekking but is showing its age. Beds were comfortable but as there is no heat, we were quite cold the two nights that we were there. There were hot water bottles and we found out when we were checking out that we could have had...

It's very basic accommodation. I wouldn't mind if it were a cheap place to stay - but it's not. It really should be better than it is. On the plus side - the views and the gardens are wonderful - we had a fab view of a volcano from our cottage. The staff are also very friendly. As for everything...
