We stayed at Steynshoop Mountain Lodge for a weekend which we thoroughly enjoyed! It was a freezing cold weekend and yet we felt comfortable and cosy in our fully carpeted room. We were well looked after by the staff, who always go the extra mile and were more than happy to accommodate my husband's special dietary requirements. The chefs were... More

An hour from Johannesburg and you are in the Magliesberg mountains. And then to stay in a beautiful place with a fantastic view was just what the doctor ordered - rest and relaxation. The accommodation was perfect and our room had full view of the mountain. The house chef kept us well fed with delicious dishes. The service was excellent... More

The experience: Steynshoop speaks to all the senses in a memorable way, with wonderful natural sights, tangible silence interchanged only with bird-song, culinary delights, fresh mountain air and a temperate climate. Location: This charming, though unpretentious lodge is perfectly situated for discerning guests who crave the quiet beauty of unspoilt nature within only an hour's drive from the big cities.... We spent the weekend of the 2/10/15 to the 4/10/2015 at Steynshoop for a company strategy seminar. This is a great venue if you are looking for a peaceful place with no distractions so you are able to concentrate during the sessions, but also tranquil so you can recharge during the breaks or "chill" sessions. Good food and friendly staff.... More

You will have to drive for about 7km off road on a very poorly maintained sand road. Lodge is pretty secluded. Very quiet with nice rooms and top class food. If you want a quiet weekend then here is your venue

We stayed the first two nights at Steynshoop room 7. I couldn't have found a better honeymoon spot for our first two nights. The setting is breathtaking, our room was luxurious, the bed was very comfortable and the bathroom very spacious. The food was top quality, and my wife was mesmerized! We'll definitely be back.

My husband and I wanted a quiet midweek getaway to celebrate my birthday, and we could not have chosen better. Nestled in the foothills of the Magaliesberg and surrounded by protected flora and fauna, the lodge has spectacular views which are a beautiful backdrop to the tranquil, charming and comfortable accommodation. We enjoyed friendly hospitality, delicious meals created by chefs... More

Our one-night stay at this lodge surpassed our expectations. The service we received from Lyn, Elcid and Samuel was exceptional – we particularly appreciated their willingness to help and accommodate our various requests. The location is great – the mountain view from the lodge is spectacular and being right by the mountain, this is a great place to go hiking.... More

My husband and I stayed at Steynshoop for two nights mid-week. There were no other guests when we were there and it felt as if we had our own private lodge with chefs, reception, and staff all included. It was wonderful! Elcid's food was excellent, the surroundings are truly spectacular, the staff are friendly and helpful, and if you're a... More
