What a welcome sight this place was after pushing into the wind on a cycle all day. And what a beautiful vista we enjoyed after showering and changing and while enjoying a cuppa. The sunset was incredible and it was lovely to wake to the sound of the animals and see the lovely sunrise coming over the paddocks. Great place.... More

Right next to the trail the Wedderburn Cottages are a perfect stopping off place. Very convenient, clean and quiet: just what's needed after a day's riding, The breakfast that is provided is a bit basic but enough to get you going the next day, The Tavern is a short 5 minute walk (or ride if you want) and provided an... This is an ideal place to get away from the maddening crowds in Wanaka , the cottages are clean and tidy and have eveyrthing you need , the breakfast is more than adequate and were topped up for day 2 , in fact we could have fed a small nation on the food provided. Overall a great place to stay... More

These little self contained cottages were a total surprise and situated on the edge of the gorgeous Maniototo. Vistas as far as the eye could see and stunning sunset to boot. The cottages are fully self contained, excellent facilities and the handy 'red shed' has extras you can pay for via the honesty box (icecream, coffee... all absolute necessities). Will... More

Very clean and tidy. Nice new shared kitchen facilities. Breakfast was a bit basic but seemed standard for the rail trail. Bathroom was a bit of a walk away form the accom but lots of hot water and clean. Great view.

Such a convenient and comfortable place to spend the night after conquering the highest point on the rail trail. And a lovely tavern down the road for dinner and to meander back from after a great meal. Fantastic countryside and fascinating history nicely set out in the red barn.

Night 2 of the Otago Rail Trail. Cute little band of cottages with wonderful views. Nice and compact with everything you need. Continental breakfast in the fridge was more than adequate for us. TV not the best, small and cringe neck view but whose there to watch that anyway. Nice touch to also have a couple of bikkies thrown in... More

5 star cottages out in the middle of nowhere surrounded by nature, peace a quiet and an excellent Pub across the road. Great choice for the Railtrail adventurers or just for a great base to explore this beautiful part of NZ. Nothing was too much trouble for the Hosts.
