Our group thoroughly enjoyed staying here. The retreat facilities, the hospitality, the food and the surroundings were all first rate. This is a peaceful, natural setting amid tropical rain forests in Tobago's mountainous country. You are surrounding by birds of many species, including hummingbirds and Chachalacas. The rooms have open deck areas on both sides, so you are always close...

As we always do, we booked a last minute getaway, and this time chose Tobago. Staying at Cuffie River made the trip a wonderful one. Regina was such a delight - she arranged a rental car and a local hike, cooks the best food on the island, and was extremely friendly and thoughtful. This is a nature retreat, so the...

We were two couples on a 10 night holiday on Tobago. Cuffie was the first stop, for 4 nights. It was "rainy season" which means a shower in the morning, and maybe in the afternoon for 20 minutes, surrounded by brilliant sunshine the rest of the day. Cuffie is beautiful, peaceful, and a perfect way to unwind from the world....

We began our belated honeymoon at Cuffie River, spending three nights at this tranquil, beautiful place. Regina offered such a warm and friendly welcome and looked after us like we were part of her family - what a perfect start. Even if you are not birders (we aren't although we do like them) we would both still highly recommend visiting...

As a longtime nature tour leader, I've chosen Cuffie River Nature Retreat exclusively for the past decade as my base of operations in Tobago. The site is remote yet accessible, the participants always rate the food as the best on any T&T trip, the accommodations are clean and extremely spacious, and the staff strives in every way to make everyone...

We came to Cuffie River after 5 days of intense birding in Trinidad. Perfect timing and location! We needed a break from guided tours and this was exactly it. Regina has an enchanting nature hideaway-REALLY NICE PLACE! Everything about the decor was just right, balanced, upscale yet natural and in harmony with the surroundings. We had the honeymoom suite which...

A ten bedroom hotel in beautiful natural surroundings, rain forest on all sides with the gently flowing Cuffie River 100m down the slope. One is given the space to unwind and relax. In fact we were on our own for two nights – and the most full it got was 8. The hotel has a gorgeous wooden interior with wooden...

We stayed 22-25 Jan as part of a three-week tour of T&T. It is a remote and delightful place, with large airy rooms and superb local food. We spent the mornings walking the local trails (the one uphill directly opposite the hotel is blocked by fallen trees after a few hundred yards, but there is an interesting circular route just...

We had a room on the second floor that was quite spacious. It overlooked some of the bird feeders so we could watch the hummingbirds come and go right from our balcony. The food was yummy and there was a nice variety. We were lead on a nature hike by one of the excellent guides who did his best to...
