We spent one week at Locanda Rossa and had the most fulfilling vacation. The place is refined, detailed, tasteful, peaceful, and aesthetically perfect. Locanda’s personnel, from the reception to the restaurant and cleaning staff, were attentive, caring and very effective. The meals are top notch, an excellent breakfast buffet and menu, lunches and dinners have a menu that varies during the week and have many options. Dietary restrictions are accommodated with a variety of tasty alternatives. The restaurant is, in my opinion, the best in the area.
We will certainly be back and will recommend Locanda to our friends.

This place is amazing when it comes to its setting, the aesthetics, the facilities, and the food quality. What isn’t amazing is their inconsistency at their ability to cater to a food intolerance, especially given the price of the hotel and status of the restaurant. The first night, I informed the waiter about my food intolerance and he arranged for a special dish, which was perfect. The second night, I informed the waitress about my food intolerance and requested the same dish. Instead I got something else. When I enquired if it contained the food I can’t eat she confirmed it did. She was of course sincerely apologetic but did blame me for the miscommunication despite her repeating back to me the ingredients I can’t eat. This ruined that evening and the following two days (essentially the duration of our stay here). When I flagged this at check out, again they were apologetic but blamed me for the miscommunication and offered olive oil (bare in mind at this point I still could barely eat). The actions of the staff following the mistake demonstrate they don’t understand the severity of food intolerances and can’t take accountability for their actions and the consequences of those. A mistake is unintentional, but how it is dealt with after is intentional. The customer service around this issue made me incredibly enraged. Fortunately it was me they messed the food up with, as opposed to my partner who has a severe allergy and instead would be dead. I will say that they catered for his nut allergy well. My conclusion, therefore, is I would be hesitant to recommend this place for anyone with food intolerances.

We always try to deal in the best possible way all kind of requests from our guests especially regarding food issues or special habits and everything related to health. We are sorry that you felt what happened as a matter of "blame." Probably, also due to a language barrier issue, there have been a mutual misunderstanding where you confirmed the order for a dish of the day before that the waitress named "pasta alla Norma". After that she was sure that you ate the same the day before, that's why she served it to you. Immediately after we served it, discovering it was not the proper dish, we immediately took it away from your table and asked you to let us know and keep us posted about any kind of problem that might have happened later and if you needed medical assistance we would have been at your full disposal. Also pointing out to you that the front desk is available 24h a day for any requests and emergencies. Since we had no subsequent communication from you the day after, we thought that the incident had no consequences. Perhaps the fact that your husband's allergy was handled in the correct manner can confirm what we are saying and we can assure that like him, we daily host lots of guests with different intollerance or allergies. We are very sorry that you have been not satisfied with how the matter was handled afterwards, but our colleague at Reception apologized again and our extra virgin olive oil is a cadeaux always much appreciated by our guests being produced on our farm. If you’re looking for a quiet , luxurious, and relaxing escape I can’t recommend more highly La Locanda Rossa. A converted farmhouse in the middle of nowhere, 25 mins drive from Capalbio and connected to Rome and Florence by car.
The stunning location is surrounded by olive trees and has 2 pools , spa , health club , bar and restaurant. The standard of the locally sourced food is exceptional but what makes La Locanda special is the people. Highly trained, multi lingual, service oriented staff make you feel welcome and all your needs are taken care of. Their in house concierge team can plan your whole stay and make the most of your time in this beautiful location.
In conclusion spoil yourself- you won’t regret it !!

Beautiful hotel with amazing surroundings. The rooms are amazing & the pool is very relaxing. The breakfast in the morning is superb & the food in the main restaurant is outstanding. Only areas of improvement are that they should offer free bottled water in the rate & also should not charge the people charge if you are staying at the hotel as each time you have a drink / order food it’s €4 per person which adds up!

We booked four nights in here as a filler between Liguria and Rome. We were stunned when we got there and spent our four days. It was exquisite! The resort is in the slightly Rollinghills of southern Tuscany near the sea. Beautifully lay down with well lit gravel paths all around the property. Two beautiful pools with lots of loungers around the adult pool. The other pool is for children which is nice that it’s separate. Easy parking among the olive trees. Speaking of all of trees the property is blanket with them and they make their own olive oil which they serve at dinner and breakfast. We eat in the restaurant all four nights and had enough variety that we didn’t feel like we had to repeat things. Excellent food including pasta steaks etc. and especially the fish! Staff were all incredibly helpful and friendly all the way from Barbara the manager on down. We rented a garden apartment which was a large one bedroom apartment with two, get them two, bathrooms. Large comfortable living room and Pullman kitchen. Bed was extremely comfortable and the sheets and towels were top notch. It was decorated beautifully. We had a small garden area with a table and chairs, Two sun loungers, and two mulberry trees. Breakfast buffet was excellent and extensive. We can’t wait to go back!

We stayed at The Eucalipto Villa for a week and the accomodation was really very nice. Convenient enough to have lunchs and dinners in the villa if we wanted.
Very quiet place to have a nice and relaxing time.
Breakfast is a great moment of the day, diversified and with very good local products.
Restaurant has a very good menu, but i found wine prices a bit too much for a daily consumption!
Pools are clean, kids area is ok but could be improved.
Overall a very recommanded place for a stay!

Dear Mrs Wowfactor,
Locanda Rossa is in the country side and the nearest town of Capalbio is 4,5 km far away. The nearest beachs 10 km. We have several guests that walk in the middle of our Maremman hills but we do not consider walking distance. If you prefer we have a shuttle to go to Capalbio or to the beachs..
