Thanks for staying with us. We have been buying properties in the surrounding area (back of the hotel) to avoid noise and the occasional, traditional burning of leaves by local residents. Hasta la vista !

Quiet, convenient and comfortable. Chichen Itza is a nice walk in the early morning to beat the crowds, and the cost is reasonable given what other hotels cost around the ruins. The pool area is nice too. I didn't try the restaurant, but there is...More

I didn't notice a policy in place like that. I was out walking late at night and the hotel was well lit for the area IMHO

Well everybody it's official now. I spoke with Roberto at hotel Chichen-itza and he told me that they now turn off the outside lights at 7:30PM. I was really spooked when my Wife and I stayed there in Nov. If i did not have a small pocket flashlight I wwould have had difficulty getting around the hotel. We have stayed at this hotel for our last ten visits to Chichen-itza. We bring our friends who come to Cancun and want to see the ruins. I have always posted good reviews for hotel Chichen-itza. If this lights out policy is a new way to save money I wish they would rise the rates. I will gladly pay more if it means we will have outside lights. We will be coming to Chichen-itza in Feb. With this new policy of no night lights I am sad to say we will be staying else where. Good bye hotel chichen-itza, it was good while it lasted. God Bless Charles (Carlos)
