Staying at Broomhill is a delightful experience, the owners are friendly, the food is outstanding and the surroundings are simply stunning. To wander around the gardens in the early morning is a bucket list experience. This is one of my favourite places on the planet.

A very welcoming hotel, the staff could not have been more friendly. Excellent breakfasts kept us going all day. The hotel is small, less than 10 rooms but each is different, the whole place abounds with artworks, pictures on the walls, a gallery and sculpture park outside around which guests are free to wander, if you like art then a... The drive at the entrance to the hotel was interesting giving a glimpse of the sculpture garden. We arrived late afternoon and were welcomed by a lovely young lady who showed us to our room. Our room was spacious and as I love Victorian and Edwardian country houses, was delighted that we had a big picture window overlooking the terraced... More

After eventually negotiating the unhelpful on-line booking system, it was all good news. We stayed 5 nights and the room was comfortable, the food excellent and the hotel and its garden absolutely fascinating. Inside the hotel is an art gallery and the large gardens are full of interesting sculptures. Very helpful owners and staff.

We booked rather late in the day, but the hotel was accommodating...and we were even able to stay the following evening at the last minute. The staff were friendly and at all times helpful. The room was spacious and comfortable, with no chintz, thankfully! We wandered around the sculpture garden during the early evening, which was interesting...more art than you... More

What a delightful, quirky hotel! We enjoy art very much, and our room (Room 3) had a superb outlook over the wooded valley and many of the sculptures. There were artworks on the walls of our room and almost wherever you looked in the hotel, and there was a gallery with other works for sale. The owners were very pleasant... More

staff were lovely, food amazing and wine list great with reasonable prices, room and overall hotel was clean and tidy. Art not my cup of tea but for art lovers I'm sure it's fab. My issue with my stay was the bed in room 7. I don't have back issues and regularly travel for business so I'm flexible on beds,... More

I cannot believe the other reviewers don't speak more highly of the sculpture garden! Maybe it's all down to the weather or its been recently expanded but I thought it was fantastic! The better half is a keen photographer, so we actually spent a fair few hours walking around, over two days but if you stop and take a look... More

This is a quirky little boutique hotel, with just a few large, well-appointed rooms, good food, friendly staff, and a most unusual sculpture garden, all set in woodlands only a couple of miles from Barnstaple. Well worth a visit for a long weekend or similar short break, or a party and overnight stay with friends.
